Description

Before K&N's latest intake designs become a certified member of their hallowed 57 Series FIPK line, they start as a 63 Series AirCharger. It's what makes the 63 Series Air Intakes some of the most potent and powerful high-flow devices to roll out of the famous K&N factory.

K&N starts every 63 Series Intake with the largest possible Filtercharger cloth filter that will fit your vehicle. Massive airflow runs through this washable, reusable filter for the biggest power gains. Couple that with K&N's crosslink nylon intake tube that runs cooler than a metal pipe, and the 63 Series AirCharger Kit stuffs pure pedal punch right into your power plant.

Best yet, adding this raw power takes less than 90 minutes and requires no drilling or modification. Detailed instructions and a complete hardware kit make this DIY project a breeze. Plus, K&N includes a 10-year/1,000,000-mile warranty with your 63 Series AirCharger Intake Kit. So, why wait? Place your order for raw 63 Series power now.

"I replaced my AEM air ram intake on the car with the K & N Typhoon due to ground clearance issues in winter. The take off is more crisp, and the engine growl is noticeably more aggressive even with the factory installed exhaust. Gas mileage remained the same...over 30 miles per gallon when I don't get on it. I intend to upgrade the exhaust and I believe I will realize the full potential of the intake."

"I installed the intake kit and a Jet throttle body spacer at the same time. The instructions weren't the greatest but everything went together easily and fit the way it was supposed to. The new intake is definetly louder but i think it sounds really good. It does give the truck a little more pep. The throttle body spacer has a slight whistle around 3000 RPM, you'd swear it was a turbo. Doesn't whistle unless you're really standing on it. My mileage increase is about 1-2 mpg. Seems like the engine is able to run in 4 cylinder mode more now."

K$N review

Posted on 02/02/2008 by Adam O. - 2008 Toyota Tundra (Virginia Beach,VA)

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful.

"Love the performance boost I have noticed, but the extra suction noise almost sounds like a small metal rattling until you listen very closely. Kind of annoying. I was expecting a similar sound to what Chevys get which is a light whistle of more air being breathed. Instead, it sounds like a washer is rattling. Love the performance boost though."

Typhoon Intake Review

Posted on 02/01/2008 by Scott J. - 2006 Pontiac G6 (Lisbon,IA)

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful.

"I purchased the K&N 69 Series Typhoon Intake for my 2006 Pontiac G6 GTP with a 3.9L V6. The materials are high quality except for the edge trim which has to be trimmed and is a little difficult to install correctly. The intake provides a very nice sound and noticeably improved throttle response and midrange power. With it being January in Iowa, I haven't been able to really test out the high RPM power to see if there is much of an increase, but the car responds much better during all driving conditions I have encountered during the two weeks the intake has been on. The only reason I didn't rate this product 5 stars, is because the heat shield and edge trim do not completely block off the hot engine-bay air. They do help keep some of the heat off of the filter. I will probably make something to attach to the box to help seal off the filter from warm air."

Duramax Diesel Air Flow

Posted on 02/01/2008 by Mark M. - 2005 Chevy Silverado (Flagstaff,AZ)

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful.

"Well I haven't been able to do any testing with monitoring system in regards to HP increase or solid data on mileage, but I will give my initial views. 1st install was a breeze. Took about 45 mins to get the old box out and the new kit in and it would have been less time if I would have had an easier time getting the actual filter on the end of the tube (20 degree weather, ended up using a heat gun for flexibility). 2nd there were no problems once installed. Mass airflow sensor goes right back on along with oxygen sensor so no diagnostic issues. No leaks in the system and it did have a different sound as you could here the air bing sucked in. I have registered higher airflow then with the stock box, but it has been so cold that I can't really tell how much of a temp drop. And for the mileage I can't tell yet since there has been a lot of snow and use 4wd. When I have more data and quit playing with all the settings on my Hyperpac I'll update my review and if it all comes out as advertised I will change my rating to 5 stars. The only negative I had was the size of the hole the tube goes through where you mount the filter. I know there has to be room for engine movement, but it seems large enough that you can pull some hot air from the engine compartment. I might just make my own rubber gasket that fully seals it off from the engine compartment and still allow it to move a little."

K&N 63 Series AirCharger High-Flow Intake Kit

Posted on 02/01/2008 by Eduardo G. - 2006 Chevy Tahoe (La Feria,TX)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"I own a 2006 Tahoe (Base 4.8L) which is stock. I saw a difference when I replaced the air filter with a K&N OEM filter and factory intake tube with an Airaid M.I.T. The acceleration was smoother and I could feel the power a bit more. I liked it because it gave it a small, mild tone at the muffler tip. However, it bagan to annoy me sometimes in the cabin when after 2,000 RPM a high low tone would be heard. Therefore, I saw a bigger difference when I replaced everything with a K&N 63 Series AirCharger High-Flow Intake Kit. The acceleartion was still smooth but the high low tone became low and deep that it doesn't bother me. When I do a W.O.T., the truck just picks up and you feel the power. The truck has become very responsive with this 63 series intake from K&N. I have been very satisfied with AutoAnything because they have made my shopping experience easy and installation instructions are clear when I bought my Airaid M.I.T. in November 2007 and my K&N 63 Series AirCharger High-Flow Intake Kit in January 2008. Thank you!"

"I have a 2004 Durango. It took me about an hour to install the intake kit. I would say the installation was easy and the instructions were great. I like the deeper sound from the engine but have not seen a increase in MPG yet, having only driven about 50 miles. I would buy it again."
