2008 Sierra 1500 5.3ltr V-8 K&N 63 & Helix Throttle Body Install

"Looks good. Installed it along with a Helix throttle body spacer. Has more low end torque, but haven't driven it far enough for a fuel mileage check. Haven't heard much, if any, more whistling, etc., these mods are sometimes known for. The installation of both at the same time was very convenient, since removing the original intake is required for either. Install was a tad tougher than K&N would suggest. Had to do some cutting, bending, and drilling to install the heat shield the filter sits in. Inner fender problem required cutting and bending, and the bottom of the heat shield required a 5/8" hole be drilled into the bottom of the air box on some trucks, like mine. At the very least, I have more torque, and hopefully, better gas mileage."

2008 6.4L ford K&N intake

"Recently purchased a K&N intake for my new 6.4L ford. Install was pretty entailed and very tight( K&N uses every bit of space availiable) some bolts very hard to get to to tighten. Once done though, ran truck up road and immediatly noticed a major difference. The turbo spools up much faster, the intake noise is louder( a cool thing) and boost gets up higher on the gauge than stock. Very noticeable power increase. as for MPG increase its hard to tell because the truck is fun to drive, but i layed off it for awhile and noticed about 1.5 MPG increase. GREAT PRODUCT!!"

"Delivery was quick, installation was easy and you can feel the difference in the seat of your pants! I added the K&N 63 series cold air intake after getting a 3" exhaust and the truck sounds awesome when you put your foot in it! These two systems really go together."

"Great product and very easy installation. There is a little bit of a whistle on low rpm's, but it goes away when you hit the gas. The case is much more responsive and sounds very good, alot of heads turn when i drive past. They just need to updgrade the system to be compatible with the 2009 ridgeline. GOOD STUFF!"

"I purchased an Air Intake kit for my 2007 Hummer. Only problem I had on installation was the wrong Heat Shield was sent by mistake. This alone took four weeks to resolve. Now, that's done I've been able to run with the new air filter and it definately "opens up" the air flow giving more of a response upon acceleration with little or no decrease in MPG."

"Instructions were for a 2005-2006 Maxima. They said nothing about a 2004. The mounting area was nowhere to be found. Couldn't find a threaded boss to mount to so I got creative. Installed fine after we got past that hurdle."

"K&N does an excellent job with quality and installation directions. There cold air intake does appear to add the HP but may fall a little short on increasing MPG. Overall excellent product. The only draw back is the price $$."

"Purchased the intake for my 2008 Toyota Tacoma TRD-Off Road a couple weeks ago. Shipped quickly and received all parts except one nut. Directions did misstep in one part (as other have stated) but navigated my way through alright. As long as you follow instructions step by step easy to install. Upon first setting out for test drive I was a little disappointed. But after hitting half to WOT my mind was altered. Sound is very noticeable and power gains can be felt. I have had two tanks of gas through it and have seen a little increase in mileage, maybe 1 mpg. It is quite a bit louder when you step on it but that quickly mellows out as RPMs drop down. The look, fit and finish I think add alot under the hood as well. I have, and would definately recommend to the next person."

"I would rate this product a 3 out of 5 due to the installation ,the brackets had to be modified, but the horsepower gain was nice . I also gained about 2 miles more to the gallon. Overall product is good but it is a bit pricey."

"I recentaly installed the series 63 in my 2008 silverado with the 5.3 and it looks great. I haven't noticed any power gain or mpg gain,but my dual exhaust definatly sounds deeper and throatier! Installation, for the most part, was pretty easy.My only complaint would be the photo's with the directions, If only they were in color and better detail!"
