"I was originally going to go with the K&N, but then I heard from a few tundra owners that the K&N oil really mucks up the MAF sensor, requiring you to have to clean it constantly. Also, I've heard the K&N is much more difficult to install due to self tapping screws for the MAF and other problems. I decided to go with the AFE mainly for the dry air filter. So far so good, and I do see a slight difference in gas mileage. (about a 1 mile per gallon difference) Nice sound too.
The only problem I had was getting the back bolt down on the open intake box, and the tube near the manifold is a bit big so I can't get the plastic toyota decoration cover over it perfectly, but it still holds on the anchors."

"The directions for the install were very precise. It took about 1.5 hrs (taking my time) I am very happy with the result. It sounds much better at idle and when you get on it the engine had a nice growl that you would expect from a big V8."

"I put this on my 2003 Cummins and straightpiped it at the same time. It is pretty noisey under load but I love it...waiting for my wife to complain about it in the cab! The intake tube with a cone type air filter really lets the turbo sing. Quite a bit of turbo whine is audible when even at 2-3psi of boost. Basicly it turns your Cummins into a JET!"

"This intake fit my 08 F150 with 4.6 V8 with no problems. Better acceleration. Can definitely feel an improvement in performance. So far, can tell no difference in feul mileage. Need to keep my foot out it. Of all the intakes I looked at before I decided to purchase the AFE, this was the lowest price of all and on the plus side, it's made in the USA. I got the one with the dry filter, no oiling necessary. Less maintenance, which is a plus. I am very happy with my puchase and with AutoAnything."

"I am very impressed with the increased performance after the installation of this cold air intake. The sound is exhilirating and the acceleration is out of this world. Just punch the gas and it sounds like a jet engine unleasing its fury and it will buckle you to the seat with the incresed torque noticed from the new AFE intake. The installation was a piece of cake. I'm no gearhead and I was able to have it properly installed within 35 minutes. The value was exceptional, it was an easy $50 less than it's competitors. I am very happy with this aftermarket purchase for my truck."

"With a gas Suburban towing a 6000# TT, I was looking for more towing ability. This cold air intake provides it. I am impressed with the additional power. Installation was not as easy as they stated. I have pretty good mechanical skills and was able to install it. Had to move a horn and some wiring harnesses near the headlights. Other than that I am very happy with the decision."

"There are certain "mods" that should be done to a car, heck, even straight from the factory. Mopar obviously agrees because they sell their own CAI for the Charger, if you order it, or got an SRT8. But even better than the Mopar design is the aFe CAI. Awesome design, as efficient as can be, installed in 10 minutes, and best of all, it's one of the cheapest mods you can do. My only advice is that the heat shield should have a small bit of padding where it comes in contact with the frame, but that can be done easily once you get it. All in all, it's perhaps my favorite mod that I've done."
