I am completely satisfied with this product! I installed it in a 2005 Maxima and the throttle response is unbelievable. Very smooth and fast. Picked up a extra 3 m.p.g. Probaly could get better mileage if I could just keep my foot off the pedal. The acceleration is quick and the roar from the exhaust sounds great!

I'm not sure I gained any performance but the noise this thing makes is interesting. Getting the filter cover free was a nice bonus as I worry less about water getting into the engine. The install was simple and easy and I'd buy the product again. I took off an appearance point for the Injen sticker that looks like it will come off after a while. I'm glad I bought the black one over the silver one.

This intake works excellently on my 2012 mitsubishi lancer es, anyone with a lancer thinking about buying this intake stop thinking and just buy it already you will not be disappointed, there is a very noticeable difference in power and sound! I could not be happier with the results.

Overall i am very happy with the injen cold air intake. The install of the intake was pretty easy it was the removal of the stock unit which was troublesome. Fit and finish of the unit is very nice, however the inside of the pipes were still a bit dirty and needed to be cleaned. Perforance wise i have noticed a bit of an increase in power and throttle response. The intake also livens up all the noises of the turbo spooling etc.

In the fine print, it said that it is capable to be converted into a short ram intake, is that 100% accurate or is there additional parts to purchase to make that happen?
Answered by Nathan S. — May 13, 2013 8:23 AM
Hi, If it wasn't accurate, we wouldn't list it. The kit will include everything that's needed.

2005 Nissan 350Z
1 Answer
Hello, I was wondering how much of a Horsepower/Torque gain I can expect when installing this on my 2005 Nissan 350z Coupe? If it matters at all I also have a Borla True-Dual Cat-Back exhaust system on it. Also, what is this about a change in sound? Will it change the note of my exhaust somehow? Lastly, does this require a cleaning somehow or some sort of replacement every so often?
Answered by Nathan S. — Feb 04, 2013 9:39 AM
Hi, The Injen intake will add around 12-15 hp and 10 ft-lb of torque. Exact number are hard to tell because this intake was tested on a stock 350Z. You will notice a bit more noise from under the hood but the exhaust note will probably remain the same. The filter is also an oiled-design and can be cleaned and reused.

Hi, Unfortunately, we don't have an Injen intake for your car at the moment but we do have a K&N intake that would work well: http://www.autoanything.com/air-intakes/kn-69-series-typhoon-intake-systems Engines in cars are classified by their cylinder configuration. Your Camry has what's called an I-4 engine as the cylinders are set up in a row. A "V" engine literally looks like a V when looking at the cylinder arrangement when looking at the front of the engine.

I want to know if it's CARB approved. Most likely not, but I just want to make sure. Can it be converted to short Ram? Also, what are the chances the cops will actually know the intake is not carb approved? Would it be safe to still install it? Thanks.

This intake system will work on a 2012 scion tc right? I believe it has the same engine as the 2011 model.
Answered by Nathan S. — Jul 13, 2012 2:09 PM
Its probably going to be a different part as Injen has not indicated that this product is available for the 2012. It may be the same displacement or even the same engine designation, but the intake manifold and any number of sensors that connect to the intake tube could have been changed, causing a redesign of the cold air intake system to be needed for the 2012. I would assume a new kit is being developed and we will offer it as soon as it is available. We may have a cold air intake in a different brand if waiting isn't an option. Intake Systems

Answered by Elizabeth C. — Jun 29, 2012 6:07 PM
CARB stands for the California Air Resources Board, and they regulate emissions standards in certain states. To find out if you drive your truck and have it registered in one of these states, check out this link. This may affect what parts you can use legally on the highway, so it’s worth looking into.

When I typed in the "submodel" of my 2009 Infinity G37 (sedan), it showed two choices for intakes: The Short Ram Intake or the Cold Air Intake. What is the difference in HP/performance gain and ease of installation? Thanks for any information you could give me. Bob E.
Answered by Tim K. — Jul 16, 2012 10:14 AM 2011 Subaru Impreza
Cold air does exactly what its name suggests, gets cold air, usually from the filter being mounted somewhere inside the front bumper away from the engine. Short ram's filter usually resides somewhere in the main engine compartment. Wile short ram has less tubing for the air to travel threw, cold air gets a denser charge. Personally I prefer cold air, but I have heard arguments for both setups.

Hi guy, i just got this awesome cold air intake. However i only installed the short ram because my buddy told me that installing cold air might let water go into our engine during raining season. I m just wondering if this is correct or not.
Answered by Michael K. — Apr 12, 2012 1:04 PM
It has been known to happen, but it takes some pretty severe weather and deep puddles. If you're really concerned, you can install the Injen Hydro Shield which covers your filter to block water and microscopic particles from getting into your engine.

Answered by ok g. — Jun 27, 2012 6:25 PM Toyota Corolla
your motor states that it has 203 HP, all HP measurements are at the crank not to the wheel. Drivetrain loses are pretty significant especially with an automatic. An intake system will help with performance in the higher RPM range. With most intakes on a naturally aspired engine the gains are up to 15 crank, my guess is you will see 5-7 at the wheel at your max RPM.

Does the intake system increase fuel economy? I drive a 2009 Nissan Maxima which requires premium gas.
Answered by Jason K — Jun 20, 2012 3:18 PM
Fuel economy testing and mileage claims are a tricky business. A lot of exaggerated claims are made in the marketplace by products claiming to improve gas mileage. Injen makes no general fuel economy claims, however we encourage you to try one for yourself. Keeping restriction as low as possible can be an important tool, among others, for maintaining high mileage.
