"I was most impressed by the instant response of the accelerator after installation. Installation may be a little difficult without a little machanical ability. Took about half an hour. One thing that would be helpfull is a metal screen over the air box openings to keep out any little varmits, otherwise I'm well satisfied."

"This was a breeze to install. It only took ~20 min. with a screwdriver and ratchet. The truck now breathes a lot better and also sounds deeper. I picked this kit because of the closed box around the filter, which other kits did not have."

"Didn't get it dyno tested or anything, but feel the power has definately increased! Instructions were pretty simple, especially if you're mechanically inclined. Had a minor issue (couple of small parts missing), but S&B customer service more than made up for it!!"

"Great product and easy to install. Only had it on my truck a week, so I am not sure about better mileage, but the motor has better response. The window is great to see if your filter is dirty and it is not a loud intake kit, a little more turbo sound. Autoanything has great prices and fast shipping."

"Very easy install. Because of where the cold air is taken from at the fender well, I noticed water getting in to the housing. I just drilled a couple of small drain holes. Sounds great and HP definitely increased. Great product."

"Great intake kit , makes a nice deep sound , fits perfectly. The instructions could be better but if you ever worked on cars it's not a problem. gives you about 1 mpg better. The price is right too"

"thought this would be a pretty straight-forward install, but I was wrong- the directions were very vague and poorly illustrated, much of it was a guessing game. I was short some of the fasteners, and had others that didn't go anywhere. i had to drill new holes in the inspection cover to get all four screws in, and the routing of the vent house leaves alot to be desired."

"This kit was easy to install although there were a few bolts and gaskets missing. Performance wise, I've seen a moderate increase in power. The best thing is it isn't as loud with the top on as my K&N on my truck so, I can still really hear my dual exhaust! I'd recommend it."

"i went with the s&b intake because of it plastic tube ,boy was i suprise ,it's quiter then my k&n on my other car and really opens my magnaflow exhaust. also the air box keeps the filter area cold, that's kinda the point right"

"I was disappointed in vague instructions, filter would not fit in box without cutting a hole in side, which would make it a hot air box. I purchased a 4 inch drain 45 degree elbow & trimmed it down to keep the filter in the box. Now it performs well & looks good.This was installed on a 05 Mustang GT."

Nice system, kit needs work

"Now that I have the intake in I couldn't be much happier with it. Sounds great and give my Tahoe nice solid power across a very wide band of RPMs. The kit was missing 6 screws, the four to mount the flange to the box that holds the air filter, and the two for mounting the box to the fender. It was also missing the 3-1/2 inch rubber tube, I had to use one of the "extra" 4 inch tubes to connect the MAF to the flange. If not for the missing parts, I would have given the system a higher rating for sure!"

Improvement over stock

"The S&B design for my vehicle retains the OEM air box but provides a great conical filter at the tip. Better accelerator response w/o excessive intake noise. Previous to my S&B I had a kit that replaced everything OEM and it had better response but noise/vibration was unbearable. I'm keeping my S&B!"

"the instructions left a lot to the imagination, very poor. The rubber connectors are very slippery and I am wondering if the clamps will slip after some time of driving. I have not noticed any increase in HP or fuel mileage, just a lot more noise on WOT. Seems like a pretty 'cheesy' system, I am not impressed. By the way, I am a field service rep for a major US car manufacturer so I am around cars/service and parts departments everyday."

"I have had this intake for about two weeks and I there are noticable power gains. The sound is major and the look of the intake is nice. I took a shot in the dark on this intake but im happy. For an AEM fan, I believe this is a great product. No complaints here."

"when the cold air intake came to my house it was a very simple set up and i didnt think that it was what i had asked for but it delivered everything i want like more power, better gas mileage, and better torque. it event help my trucks tendency to wind out the engine during shifting when i slam the gas down."

"Great intake kit, only took about 30min to install and looks really cool under the hood w/the clear cover over the filter. Made a noticeable difference in acceleration, I haven't had a chance to check my mileage yet but it appears to be improved. The sound of my engine is deeper and you can really hear the turbo now!"

"Good quality kit - materials and design. Good, clear instructions. Easy installation. Only negative was the MAF sensor mounting plate was mounted upside down on the intake tube - I was able to easily correct it. I works with out a tune, I have not noticed any Check Engine light errors. I have not yet had the chance to dyno the car with the CAI instaled."
