"Overall installation was a breeze, but why send bolts that are to long for the mounting bracket, had to fabricate spacers for proper fit. Also is it normal to have only one support bracket instead of two like the OEM air box has. Without the second support bracket the box bounces up and down and vibrates. I would recomend this application to anybody."

"06 Tundra Double Cab...I put 18" BBS Rims on this truck and it slowed down and downshifted more often, especially on hills. So to offset the problem, I started with this intake. I didn't expect it to make as much of an impact as it did...two major changes... 1. It does not downshift on those interstate hills anymore (this is not my imagination or wishful thinking...I drive the same route almost daily, and there were 4 places where it downshifted at 70 mph...now there are 0 places where it does) 2. It sounds stock with normal driving, but has a pleasant growl when you step on it. Don't expect this or any intake to cut 2 seconds off your 0-60 time. But do expect this one to make a noticeable performance difference. And don't forget to take advantage of AutoAnything's price matching policy. Pros: 1. Noticeable performance difference 2. Great looking (I recommend the wrinkle black because the chromed one will get hotter and work against the whole concept of "cold air" intake) 3. Installation instructions with photos included Cons: 1. Getting the 3 main pieces perfectly aligned and sealed in the engine bay can be challenging. The center pipe probably should have been about 1/2" longer on each side (total installation time 45 min.)"

Injen PF CAI for 2004 Nissan Armada

"I've had the new CAI installed on my Nissan 5.6L V8 for a couple of weeks now, and I think it has increased my peak HP by about 10%, based on improved 0-70 acceleration times and maximum Mass Air FLow as measured on my Superships Flashpaq. Two things surprised me, though, and kept me from giving 5 stars all the way: (1) I expected that a CAI would in fact be drawing all the air from outside the engine compartment. That is the way the stock intake was set up, but the Injen draws air from the engine compartment, so it is really NOT a cold air intake. (2) There was only one bolt securing the Power Box to the inside of the compartment. I had to fashion an additional support under the box."

"It was a little more difficult to install than I had orginally thought. Partly due to the fact the Hummer sits so high. I did notice an immediate change in performance. Overall I would say I am pleased with my purchase."

"I had the intake in for almost 2wks. It seams to have a little more power on the higer rpm's than the low end. I haven't noticed a big difference in my gas mileage ,but not complaining. It has a nice quite but throaty sound when you step on it. Cool!!"

"I was very pleased with how the Injen cold air intake looked. The installation was easy, but the overall performance has NOT been seen yet. I've had my intake for just over a month and it does not sound any different or give me any better gas mileage. I was hoping for at least one or the other. I have NOT taken the truck on any long trips (just been city driving so far) so maybe when I do I will be able to see a difference in my gas mileage."

"I had no problems installing the system. It took about 45 minutes. The difference in acceleration is noticeable in the mid range gears. I don't know about fuel economy yet. Overall, very happy."

"The installation was easy and straight forward for anyone that can use basic tools. It took less than an hour and as soon as I got on the road I felt a little more PEP! I haven't seen the gas mileage gains, but the additional power is worth it."

"Very glad I installed the intake/filter system by the collaboration of Injen/Amsoil. I tow boats for a living, and with diesel taking arms, legs and other body parts I need every drop of efficiency possible for my 2006 F250 6.0. I was under a time crunch, and AutoAnything accomodated me tremendously- I had it shipped overnight to a motel I would be at the next day. After reading the very clear directions (not knowing anything about intakes, turbos, or the like) I successfully installed it in about 2 and a half hours- would have been quicker but the parking lot light wasn't very good lighting at midnight, and my flashlight battery was heading south. Right away I noticed a difference in acceleration from a dead stop, even with a large boat behind me. After running through several tanks I measured an approximate 10 -11% increase in fuel mileage in both towing/non-towing conditions. Kudos, thanks a bunch. The only issue is the price- at double what other name brands are I think they're way too proud of it. According to the dyno tests they provide it outperforms other intake systems, but not by enough, in my opinion, to justify the cost. But, it does squeeze a bit more out of the diesel than others, and with the miles I put on the truck it'll pay for itself in about two or three months. --Mark, RGM Transport."

"The Injen was easy to install and the results are what was expected. Throttles much faster and seems to transition between gears a lot smoother. Horsepower has increased, but fuel economy is only slight improvement."

Good and Bad

"The good: It looks great. it sounds great - quite under normal driving but mean sounding when your on the gas. Most importantly, it gives me more power where I needed it. I often found my Dakota dogging up hills with a full load. This intake definitely increases the pull under those conditions. The bad: Injen did not do their homework for the Dakota. Mine has the 45RFE transmission and the intake does not fit. I had to relocate the vacuum kickdown canister and fabricate a new bracket to hold it. The filter also rubs against the TCM, so I need to buy a shorter filter. I positioned it so it is not too bad, but still the filter should be shorter. These problems turned what should have been a 20 minute job into a 3 and a half hour job. After I encountered the problems, my research found that the AFE intakes include brackets for just this problem - I guess they did their homework. Conclusion: If you have a Dakota without a 45RFE transmission, I would highly recommend this intake. If you do have the 45RFE, your money would be better spent elsewhere."

"Once the product arrived from Injen, 5 weeks later, I was able to get it installed in no time. Only bad part, not a perfect fit with the opening to the wheel well. Looks good. Be patient with Injen, after several calls to the company, they would say they are working on it. Allow yourself extra time. I asked them to overnight the shipment, since they were at fault with the delay and Injen refused. Ouch, good customer service Injen."
