Description

True Flow first turned the industry upside-down with the foam-cell air filter—now they’ve turned it inside-out. The True Flow XDI (Xtreme Duty Intake) is the hottest intake system available, on or off the road.

True Flow’s revolutionary design filters from the inside out. Fresh air draws into the system’s hollow core and gets forced out through the filter. This creates maximum airflow, a beefy intake tone and the largest filtration surface possible.

The XDI scraps that restrictive factory air box for powder-coated aluminum tubing and nylon-reinforced silicone couplers. You get custom under-the-hood looks while your engine gets all the power-producing air it can handle. The kit also includes True Flow’s famous reusable foam-cell air filter.

Notes

  • CARB approval is still pending for the True Flow XDI. Until certified, the XDI isn't cleared for street use in emissions-controlled states.
  • Some kits do not contain mandrel-bent tubing. If you do not find mandrel-bent tubing in your kit, your vehicle's intake design may not require it.

"I didn't realize the intense sound the XDI Intake would give my 08 Tundra, and my fuel computer says I am now getting 21.5 to 22 mpg instead of 18 or 19 mpg........ Thanks True Flow"

"Installation wasn't too much of a pain, although on the Dodge you have to remove the fender well. The unit itself is heavy duty for sure. My only complaint is the noise level inside the cab at WOT. VERY loud."

"Installation was easy but the kit was missing one item on the list. The zip tie but I used a better clamp to secure the wires. I needed a nut to hold down the air filter housing to the rubber bushing, it was not included. The male/female rubber bushing needed to be drilled out to get the bolt to go into the rubber. Over all I like the way it looks but it is louder than I care for when you get on it. Some people might like it though. The air filter housing gets pretty hot so I wonder how it is working as a cold air intake when the air has to be getting heated up as it goes through the metal housing and pipe. I know the original plastic didn't get hot. I haven't noticed any increase in power but the V6 has plenty of get up an go any way. I am hoping to get a few extra miles to the gallon over all but I haven't gone through a tank yet to get an average. The True Flow looks great under the hood but it was pricey for all that it is. Thank you."
