Airflow is power! And, that's why Banks created the Ram-Air Intake System—to ram power-producing air right down your engine's throat. By lifting the restrictions that leave your rig gasping for air, Banks primes it for increased power, torque and fuel mileage.
The system's monstrous inlet, titanic tubing and enclosed filter radically cool and boost the airflow headed to your engine. This cooler, denser air makes for more efficient combustion—and ultimately more power.
Topping the system off is Banks' high-flow cone filter. 8-plys of premium cotton-gauze trap engine-killing debris while the fresh air continues its path to power. Reusable for life, simply clean the filter and reinstall for thousands of trouble-free miles.
The Banks system easily installs right in your driveway. And, it works with stock sensors, so there are no pesky engine lights in your future. Best yet, your Banks Ram-Air System is backed by a 5-year warranty, and the filter's backed for life.

I installed the banks cold air intake with the super scoop at the same time I installed the banks automind programmer on my 2005 gmc duramax and I love it. I gained almost 4 mpg on the highway I'm getting right at 21 mpg avg. highway mileage. SCARY power.... Haven't been on a dyno.... But I have power to spare. Couldn't ask for more!

Autoanything has the best deals! Install went ok except for removing the air sensor. Definitely noticed an increase in power. Still not sure about mpg gains yet. Sounds better then I thought it would.

Helps tremendously on my jeep downshifting while driving over overpasses. Did not help with fuel economy (at least it is not noticeable) perhaps a slight increase in acceleration or just a different sound! Either way, it is worth it to help with the regular down shifting on the interstate.

Installed the intake portion in about 20 Minutes. Spent a little longer installing the Super Scoop. It took a total of about 90 Minutes from start to finish. I noticed the difference right away. When you put your foot down the truck goes. I have been keeping an eye on the computer also. I think I'm gonna see about 2 mpg more. Yes, I would buy this again. Yes, I would recommend the Intake and Super Scoop to everyone.

I installed this on my wifes wrangler to try and help compensate for the 33" tires on the jeep with power and fuel economy. It was the perfect intake for her as she was concerned with constant drone while casual driving of which there is none , but there is a nice throaty sound when heavy on the pedal. There seems to be a bit more pep in the step too Though i didnt drive it all that often on a daily basis to really be able to tell. But happy with product. Very stylish look. Very happy with

Hi, I have a 1991, f250 Ford, 4x4, 7.5 engine, manual shift and a Banks Power Pack. What range of increase could I expect as far as torque, horsepower and mileage with the Banks Ram Air # 49216? George
Answered by Nathan S. — Nov 12, 2012 9:14 AM
Hi George, Youd can expect 10-12hp/tq and 1-2 mpg depending on your driving style.

What exactly does CARB exempt mean?
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Aug 14, 2012 12:35 PM
Hello. Parts that are not “CARB exempt” (California Air Resources Board) may violate emission control system anti-tampering laws, and may not be legal for highway use in certain states. Check here for details and a list of states that follow the CARB standard. Thank you for your question.

My air intake is noisy at just about every throttle increase, but when im at fifty miles per hour in overdrive and am slowly bringing my rpms up to about two thousand my intake starts to make a shuttering noise is this normal. the noise is not like the light whistle or swoosh when i let off of the gas its a noise all of its own. i have checked to make sure it has no leaks what is it?
Answered by Nathan S. — Jul 19, 2012 3:49 PM
It sounds like you may be lugging the engine if you are accelerating at 50mph in overdrive. The reason why you may not have heard it before was that the factory intake had restrictive baffles to mask the noise. Most Fords can be placed into overdrive at 65mph and above with a manual transmission.

CARB stands for the California Air Resources Board, It's important to know whether a part is CARB compliant, becuse if not, it may be illegal in your state. If you want to know which states are regulated by CARB standards, check out this link.

Hey, does pipe size matter and how do I know if its air injected?
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Jun 22, 2012 3:23 PM
Hello. The larger diameter of the piping would allow air to pass faster. But that also increases sound as well. You would need to check your existing manifold to see if it has an electronic module installed on it to determine whether it is air injected. Thanks for your question.

Is this system just a cold air intake that they are calling ram air, or is it actually a true ram air setup?
Answered by Michael K. — Apr 11, 2012 5:48 PM
Hey Cameron, this is a cold air intake system. If by ram air you mean a system that incorporates a hood scoop connected to the intake, this is not that.
