"Great product at a great price! I only wish the manufacture put a sticker or something on the 90 degree rubber bend that shows this side toward engine (for those like me who are dyslexik). It will fit only one way without cutting the fan guard back. After nearly deciding to cut the fan guard back I reversed the bend and it fit perfectly. But then those with dyslexia shouldn't work on vehicles!"

"The performance of the Spectre intake system is outstanding.I could not belive the torque and exceloration after instalation, The looks of it surpasses anything on the market. If you are looking for a cold air intake, buy a Spectre for good looks, quality and performance. Don't get rapped up in paying allot of money just for a name, from those other guys buy Spectre."

"I would recommend the Spectre kit, it would be hard to beat for the price -just be sure to allow some extra time for the assembly of the shield box and the installation should go well. Performance seems to be improved and it sounds good when you punch it."

"Overall very easy to install. Had to do a few modifications as the heat shield did not match up properly with the bolt pattern. Took about an hour to install. Gives great performance, a lot better throttle response and great sound. Can definately tell it's there when you punch it to the floor."

"I have seen an increase of 2-3 miles per gallon. Min of three even with a little lead foot. 3 driving conservatively. So in about 30 fillups it will pay for itself...."

Spectre Cold Air Intake

"System installed easily you should retap all threaded holes as I had a bad thread and broke a bolt installing it. When you mash the accelarto it makes a deep air sucking sound to me is annoying but others might like it. I didn't see gas milage increase but power picked up a little. Looks better then stock. Had ordered other free items with this unit but 5 months later still have not received half of order luckely the items were free. Overall happy with system and at half the cost of some of the other units out there."

"Great product for the price. Relatively easy to install. Requires quite a bit of tweaking to fit proprly. Quality is on par with price. Looks awesome once installed. Noticed an instant improvement in gas mileage and throttle r esponse. Would purchase again."

"The cold air intake has lived up to the hype. The heat shield that came wasn't right, but it only took one phone call for them to ship out the right one. My truck defintitely has more get up an GO. Better throttle response and I got about 1 mpg gallon improvement my first tank (that was with me getting on the throttle a whole lot more than usual). When I start to baby it again I hope to get more. Great buy for the money. Recommend for anyone looking for some power that doesn't want to spend an arm and a leg."

Great Look for the Money

"The Spectre Cold Air Intake is easy to install with just a few tools. The quality of the intake pipe is a bit low. The fitting for the PVC hose was crushed and the weld looks poor. The Intake pipe should have another mounting location due to the size of the filter. The filters weight causes the pipe to bounce around and make contact with the splash shield. The tie strap used to connect the splash shield to the strut is a cheap mounting idea and could have been designed better. I did notice an increase in performance but not in fuel mileage. The sound is deep and throaty."

Great cheap alternative!

"I bought this cold air intake for my 1999 f150 and it took about an hour to install. Once installed, i took it for a test drive. It gives my truck an awesome sound if I step on the gas little bit but it still runs just as silent as stock if I don't get on the gas too hard. Did notice a little bit of power gain but not what I was expecting. Also noticed a very small gain in mpg. Overall good product for the price!"

"Installing the Spectre Cold Air Intake on my 2005 F-150 was a breeze. Parts fit perfectly and look great. I haven't had time to assess any economy effects but the acceleration response is improved for sure. Also, removing the stock breather allows more air to circulate over the upper motor which has to be beneficial for heat dissipation. The price was excellent and delivery was quick. Great product and good service. G.T. Missouri"

"the install of my intake did not go as smoothly as i would have liked, i did not receive one of the clamps that was supposed to come in my kit, thus a had to slightly improvise the installation process, overall i like the product, i noticed an increas of about 3-4 mpg on the highway (adds up quickly) the look of the intake under the hood is also very pleasing to the eye. for the money an overall great buy"

"Ordered it and received it in 2 days went out after work and installed it in under 30 minutes. I could notice the power increase. Haven't had a chance to check for an increase in fuel mileage. Very happy with my purchase."
