The install was moderately easy, took a bit of prying and careful maneuvering to get the old senors off the stock throttle. Overall, awesome addition to a i6. Noticeable "getty-up."

The throttle body arrived promptly from AutoAnything. I had read that it was an easy install, but if you're a computer geek like me with other aftermarket parts, that's a lie. I have an Airaid CAI and it was not a good fit with this throttle body. After 4 hours of blood sweat and tears, I got it installed and I'm very happy with the results. I can definitely notice the power gains at the lower RPMs. I'd buy this product again in a heartbeat, but I'd have someone a bit more savvy install it.

I bought this 78mm bbk throttle body with a intake spacer and the whistle says everything, I could tell the performance gains. Puts you back to seat a little. Installation was straight forward and only took me 2 hours with some basic hand tools.

Bought this for my husband for his birthday. The only downfall is that the letters are backwards since it is made to be installed the other direction on a Mustang. We knew about that from the start, so no biggie. But otherwise, its great!

I want to put a cold air intake on my dodge charge but I also want to have the throttle body as well. Can I have both or do I need to pick one of the two?
Answered by Nathan S. — Mar 28, 2013 4:26 PM
Hi, One or the other. If you mix the two, the intake either won't contour right in the engine compartment or won't bolt in place. Also, mixing parts that are designed to speed up airflow, only to slow it down in order to swirl the air = potentially no power or economy gains. Each part is designed to work as a stand-alone upgrade over stock. Throw in another part that alters airflow and this can have a negative impact. Even though they are close to each, some parts don't work as well as you would think together.

I cant find a TB that will fit my vehicle year-2004. But there is a TB that is sold as a model year 2005 that will fit on 2005 and up. I was wondering is there really a big difference in only 1 year? Will a TB that says it fits a 2005 and up fit my 2004?

Please tell me if both your 52 and 58 mm BBK Throttle Bodies fit my 5.7 LT1 engine, and if there are any advantages to either one. Also, if I do this upgrade I will also replace the OEM mass air flow sensor and the cold air intake with a K&N. Anything else I should/could do for the air intake system? Clear image offers a competing air intake which bolts onto the throttle body without tubing. Does anyone have any comparison advice between doing that versus the K&N cold air intake with tubing? Thanks, D. Myers, M.D.

What is CARB, and who do they think they are?!
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Jun 29, 2012 6:09 PM
CARB-exemption determines whether certain parts may be legally used on the highway in certain states. If a part complies with CARB than you can be assured that it’s passed a certified emissions test, or is manufactured within the CARB standards. If you want to know which states enforce CARB regulations, check out this link. This may affect what parts you can use legally on the highway, so it’s worth looking into.

What’s the difference in the 56mm and the 61mm BBK Power-Plus Throttle Bodies for a 1994 f150 5.0 is there a certain one I’m supposed to get? I got headers and a cold air intake and sum msd ignition parts but that’s it I don’t have a chip or the computer redone.
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Jun 29, 2012 3:57 PM
Hello. They are both Twin Bore and offer the same horsepower ratings. The 56MM will be better for fuel economy, and you will lose some torque with the 61MM.

80mm or 85mm which one do I buy? will they both fit the 4.8l? and if so will I get more HP from the 85? I have an after market cold aire intake, will they both work with the intake?
Answered by Anonymous — Apr 15, 2012 7:28 PM 2004 GMC Sierra
well theoretically having 85 mm bore would give you more power but if your intake is only 80mm only so much volume of air would go through it rendering it pointless
