Bit of a struggle, but satisfied!

Hello reviewers! Received my Volant air intake, I'm a garage wanna-be. The instructions were 80% clear to follow, had difficulty getting the box into position (removed parts that were not clear in the instructions not to move), re-routed the radiator o-flow tube but was missing the extension tube needed to complete installation from manufacturer. All-in-all, satisfied with increased hspwr and pick-up, nice rumble when accelerating....no noticable gas savings at this time.

Love the sound

The installation was very easy step by step. The only thing I had to buy was a rubber elbow from pepboys. Other than that everything was perfect. The sound and feel keeps you jumping on the gas .

Pass On Volant

This CAI is for a 2005 Ford Expedition: 1) Intake material looks cheap. 2) Directions might as well be in Chinese. Don't expect them to be vehicle specific. 3) Kit came with extra hardware, just not the right hardware. 4) Had to drill extra holes to mount the air box because not enough were drilled, and the ones that were drilled were extremely sloppy. Rough edges all around the one hole that was drilled. Totally unprofessional in my opinion. Actually, they were punched through, not drilled. 5) Sent an email to Volant, and no reply, however, AutoAnything's customer service was top notch the entire time. 6) After install, and adding my own pieces to make it work, it seems to perform well. The cone filter is the one to go with. Bypass the "Powercore" filter. That is a joke. 7) Bottom line: Go with another company. I don't know how this company stays in business.

Installation was very easy, very good instructions. I can feel The horsepower as soon I touch the gas pedal. Unit didn't come with breather hose. Haven't notice any gas mileage increase yet.

Was hoping for boost in MPG

First, Auto Anything was great! Friendly people who know their stuff. I will definately purchase from them again. The Volant CAI I bought was great too. I was hoping for a boost in MPG. After 3-4 tank fulls of gas, the dashboad computer says that I've gone from an average of 13.4 MPG to 14.1 MPG. While I have not taken a long trip yet to test highway mileage, I suspect the MPG improvement will be more like a full mile to the gallon. According to Volant, HP and torque gains are 16 and 18. I can tell that the truck drives better. The throttle seems more responsive. It was not that loud either. I drive clients around in my truck. Had it been too loud, it could have caused a problem. Volant told me that it would be quieter than other brands because the air filter is enclosed in a box. I am happy with the noise level, or lack there of. Installation was easy - took a little time and fit like a glove. Volant forgot one of the rubber hoses. So, make sure you check the parts list before you go to install it. Volant provided a tech support number on the included instructions. A real person answered the phone - and the part was in the mail that day! Other remaks mention problems with the gasket for the mass-flow air sensor - I suspect some of those problems were because the factory gasket (it's like an o ring) had not been removed. I amost had similar problems until the factory gasket was removed. Then, everything fit together like it was meant to. By the way, it looks great when you pop the hood!

Just excellent
