Somewhat disappointed with how loud it made the vehicle sound in the cab of the truck. It is very reverberating. Otherwise, it looks great and was fairly easy to install if you have any mechanical apptitude. Too early to tell if it increases the mpg or torque.

Power increase comes with a large increase in noise

I installed this intake on my 2009 Canyon 2.9 ext. cab. The quality of materials are far better than factory, fit and finish are good (allthough I did have to cut about an inch off the intake tube to make it fit),and the enginering of this system for optimum airflow is excellent. The only negative for me is the noise. The only way to avoid this was to accellerate very slowly which does not suit my driving style. So I blocked of the portion of the system that pulls air from the inside of the fender leaving the lower front of the air box as the only inlet for air. This brought noise levels down to a much more acceptable range without hurting performance which is a very good increase over stock. Throttle response is also much better.

Love the look and horsepower, but the install required mods

2008 Chevy Colorado, 3.7L The horsepower gain is awesome, paired with a Jet Stage 1 Performance chip and a Jet Throttle Body Spacer. However, I had to cut the intake tube between the box and the throttle body about 5 inches and had to compensate the angle of the throttle body with a 22 degree elbow from Spectre to make the Volant fit with smooth transitions in the plumbing. I read that others had trouble fitting the box, but I didn't suspect the extremely poor fit of the intake tube. The vent tube to the valve cover was also too short and I had to buy a longer rubber hose for that. Maybe I got the wrong intake tube, I don't know, but it looks and works sweet with the chrome 22 degree transition tube feeding into the throttle body.
