Volant Cold Air Intakes Part #12540 Customer Reviews

Had a Volant box on my Titan, and was very happy with it. This kit does not seem to be made with the same quality. Fit and finish needed some work before install. Instructions were outdated, and did not match air box. Rubber side cap missing from package.

My system was delivered on time and all the parts was included. Installation took much longer than I expected because the two holes in the bottom of the Volant filter box had to be modified to get them to aliened with the mounting hole on the vehicle. Instructions erroneously state the vehicle horn should be mounted to the filter box. That's not the case. Pros: Easy installation, I noticed a 2 miles per gallon increase driving on the freeway (65-70mph). Cons: Filter box not fully enclosed.

Very good not hard to put in at all! Some of the holes had to be widened a bit but other that that it worked great and actually adds more horsepower and gas mileage

Minus the few setbacks, this is overall a really great and functional cool air intake. Sounds great on the Nissan Xterra. Had to fiberglass the gaping hole on the bottom of the box and purchase an extra plug for the snorkel location to actually seal the box. Installation holes did not line up with factory holes. It is obvious they spent little to no time designing the box, but after getting in, it does work well.

Installation this is a very good product. That being said, installation was not very good. The instructions I received with my product for the most part did not apply to my vehicle. I ended up removing original equipment as instructed that did not need to be removed. Airbox holes did not line up with the factory mounting points of the vehicle. These holes need to be modified and have washers used to get proper alignment to clear rigid brake lines. Overall I am very pleased with the product

I put this CAI on my 2015 Nissan Frontier with the 4.0 V6. Others have complained that the mounting holes don't line up. It appears that Volant have listened and widened the holes. Went in easy. Looks good in the engine bay. Makes a great noise at WOT. I like it because its fully enclosed. You won't be disappointed!

Sounds good once past 3500 rpms and more of a rumble at lower rpms. Seems to be getting some gains in mph and hp, no real tests though. Pain in the ass to get the airbox to sit right in my truck, hardware did not fit.

it arrived on date as promised, I felt like a kid at Christmas once I opened the box. Installation time was All of 40 minutes, the sound was nice not to mention the extra power, along with the difference in gas saving, truly unbelievable. Glad that I did my research, and made my purchase.

I have not noticed any increase in gas mileage yet, however i haven't had much chance to closely monitor it at this time. The instillation was easy, however you needed a dremel tool or a round file to elongate the mounting holes to get the air box to fit properly. the system is a little noisy when accelerating
