This is a nice item to help give some more power to my 3.7L V6. There was noticeable amount of power to the Jeep right after it was installed. It did take some time to actually assemble all of the parts. The directions of dis-assembly didn't match the stock intake that I had, so I had to figure that part out myself.

I will disagree with other reviewers here, first, the instructions were truly horrible, parts and screws that went with each step were left to the installers discretion which often lead to problems later on when suddenly you needed a bolt/nut combo that you had already used, bad photos compound the issue and many times you are wondering what angle something is being shown, its a confusing install and I am a decent enough shade tree mechanic. As for what this thing actually does? you will notice a slight-I said SLIGHT increase in power, as for gas mileage getting better? forget it. I think that if you have the 3.7 motor and you install this AND a less restrictive exhaust (my next step) you will possibly see some appreciable results. The 3.7 is a dog as it comes stock, this set up here makes it less so but don't expect it to suddenly turn into a 5.7 Hemi either. Oh, it looks awesome in the engine bay.

Overall fantastic intake, however for my model Jeep, the crankcase ventalation hose (small hose attached to stock intake box) wasn't even close to reaching the K&N intake. Had to visit the local auto store for a new piece of hose to complete the project. For anyone experiencing this issue, GET IT FIXED. If left unconnected, or poorly connected will lead to mpg issues and a decline in performance.

The instructional pictures didn't match up exactly to my year of vehicle & the hardware kit was crap. I had to use some of my own hardware to complete the installation and the instructions don't properly identify the fasteners, etc. After a frustrating pre-assembly, the kit installed easily. My on-board computer showed an immediate increase in MPG as high as 25MPG then settled 23.8 during my first road trip. The previous high hwy MPG was 22.5. I detect no change in sound volume from my V6.
