Unless you can do a before and after dyno you will be left with the subjective seat-of-the-pants opinion, like mine. I would say there is probably some improvement, how much of that improvement is based on a new clean air filter is hard to say. As for any increase in gas mileage, I have to say it is minimal.

Don't know about gas mileage yet but my excursion runs daily at about 5900ft around the Denver front range and notice more ease in shifting up passes and towing.Great so far, from the mile high city drive on garth :)

Purchased this k&n again because I am very brand loyal. I've had the same kit in my monte carlo for around 5 years now and its worked wonderful. Now that I own an excursion, not only am I looking to do anything to improve fuel economy, but also I trust what I had previously. Kit installed in 40 minutes, and added a great sound to my vehicle.

very easy to install,i installed this and a throttle body spacer in about a hour.better throttle response ,seems to be a bit more power.over all its a good investment.

It took about 2 hrs to install, most of the time went to taking out the stock intake. My ford has about 160k miles on it. I have yet to run a tank of gas through the the 6.8L ford F250 but did notice about a 10 HP increase and a great sound. Im glad i found the FIPK through AutoAnything.com because anywhere else wouldnt be worth the price for 10 HP. Also fit well with my throttle botty spacer. K&N website told me not to do both cause it might not fit but installation went smooth.

Install was quick and easy...maybe 1hr total. I can feel a difference in the throttle response. I made a 180 mile road trip at 80mph before and after install. Looks like MPG went up from about 9.9 to 10.3. Online support from AutoAnything was great. Thank you!
