Less heat than the aluminum. Used it during the rainy days to avoid hydro lock with my cold air intake. Works great but doesn't sound as nice as the cold air intakes. Recommend.

Was surprised that tube was plastic and not black metal as is the 'filter box', but that may have been my mis-read. The filter box is not bolted to anything on the vehicle, but sits on the front of fender and other parts. Held on by one center bracket and the hose clamps. I have had to retighten the hose clamps. I installed another intake system in another vehicle that did provide that the filter box be bolted to the vehicle. That unit was more substantial. Did not change sound of exhaurs but does breath a bit louder under full throttle; not an annoying sound, but a nice deep sound.

The ordering process was easy and I received in very fast. I love the way it makes my car sound and the extra horsepower is a lot of fun. I Love it.

Super easy installation with zero problems. I honestly figured out how to install the unit without looking at the instructions. Took about 40 min. I installed this on a Nissan 350z and I noticed a little sound difference and a better throttle response. I'm assuming that I gained a bit more horse power. If you're looking for sound then go with a cold air because I hear it delivers a better sound and if you're looking for horses at a lower rpm then FIPK is the way to go.

I've owned other K&N cold air intakes on 4, 6, and 8 cylinder engines, but I didn't notice much of a difference from the stock air intake...that was running a K&N replacement filter prior to installation of the cold air intake. No real noticeable change for the 350z with this product. I've always used K&N products on all of my vehicles. However, on this particular car...not much performance or fuel economy difference. Wish it were otherwise. That's the reasoning behind my price/value rating.

This thing added immediate power and I have noticed an increase in mileage, too. It extrememly easy to install. I think it may be a little over priced, but overall, it is an awesome product.
