This is the last intake I'll have to buy for my truck. I upgraded the OEM to a lesser system years ago. Tried to refresh the system recently and was sent junk. That was the last straw for me and I finally spent the money for a K&N. I have noticed a increase in power (even over a similar -yet inferior- setup). The downside is the price. That's a lot of coin for a plastic pipe! 2.7L Tacoma 1999 270,000+miles

Main reason I bought the K & N air intake system is because it's one of the few CARB legal intakes. Easy to install and works good. Sounds cool, deep and throaty in the higher rpms. Not sure how much it helps mpg. Throttle response is improved

I have a 99' Tacoma extra cab 4x4 with the 2.7 4 cylinder. I wanted a bit more power than completely stock since I'm pulling extra weight w/ a camper shell & lots of carpentry tools. The K&N 57 Series FIPK really delivers! The stock 2.7 was surprisingly peppy, but I could immediately feel the promised power boost the 1st time i drove it after installation. 2nd & 3rd gears were amazing when I stomped on it from mid range to high end. Installation was easy! Took about 1.5 hrs

Put this in on my Tacoma with a 2.7 and gained about 2mpg. It also added a little extra roar to the engine. Very pleased with it and the price.

As always K&N has created a quality product that delivers on its promises. Power & response have both increased and gas mileage seems to have improved.

Noticed a huge difference just at first start up. Acceleration and the ease of driveing up hills also made me a big believer. This truck also has 220,000 miles on it to. I also installed headers and and new exhaust with kandn upgrade. Directions are very blurry I suggest useing lap top or smart phone with installation instructions.
