K&N 69 Series Typhoon Intake Systems Part #69-8608TFK Customer Reviews

Installation was pretty easy; it took about 1.5 hours to install. They sound is amazing!! I noticed an immediate difference with acceleration and haven't had it long enough to calculate if there is any MPG increase. I would recommend this for any CA driver who wants to keep their car 'CARB legal' because this intake is CARB legal, from what K&N explains.

I was a little disappointed that the air filter is rectangular and goes under the cover of the old filter, makes it harder to show it off. But besides that, the installation was easy and it sounds great. You can slightly notice the power increase but I guess on an automatic it's harder to see

Overall the K&N Install instructions are excellent. Head and shoulders above other manufacturers that point you in the general direction of the car and then have numerous text only: "do this, do this, BUT first" style instructions! My few gripes: a heat shield mounting stud location was identified incorrectly and the crankcase hose needed to be trimmed to fit without kinking. A couple of the pictures could have been clearer. The performance increase was noticeable immediately and the increased roar limited to when you tromp on the pedal.

I have noticed a difference in throttle response since the instal. Very mean sounding, but sounds stock if you baby the throttle. One downside is that I'm tempted to drive the car harder, thus mgp has seemed to drop. Overall happy with my order. K&N is the one to go with.

I have had this installed on my 2006 TC for 2 weeks and I have notice at 4800 rpms and up a fair increase in power. It also has a nice low growl when accelerating but quiets down when at idle or cruising. Haven't had a chance yet to see if there is any mileage increase but can said for sure it has not gone down. I did have to trim the valve cover hose a bit for a good fit, other then that it when together in about 1 1/2 hours.

The 69 Series Typhoon is the only intake I could find that's 50-state legal. It sounds great and works well with the sport muffler. I can definitely feel the increase in horsepower.
