I had reviewed testimonials about other 3.0 ("3.Slow") 4 Runner owners who installed an S & B kit. Most indicated they had noticed improved horsepower/performance. After I installed the product on my daughter's 4 Runner, I took it on a 1,000 mile trip and noticed no improvement; semi's and RV's still passed me. Despite no improved performance, it looks cool and my daughter will not have to deal with the filter for 50,000 miles. Installation was easy until mating the air tube to the OE air hose.

This is a good looking unit seems to allow more continuous airflow then the K&N kit reduces rpm at cruising speed by 200. Had to relocate alarm audio horn. And 1 wire loom. Hoses easier to install on warm days.

Very easy instructions and installation for a guy with little mechanical skills. Looks outstanding compared with the competition and price is much better as well.

So, first off, I have what's known as the 3.slow engine.(A kind of curse on the second gen 4runners, 65 is difficult to hit) I also live at 6000 ft(very thin air) and have maybe two flat roads anywhere in my town. When I put this on, and drove it for the first time, it was unbelievable. I could get to and hold 65 on pretty much any road, plus my low end torque was exceptional. All in all, worth every penny I paid and I'd do it again if I needed to.

I have spent way more on an K&N intake and I will never do that again, the S&B intake looks better, sounds better, and has a better overall performance, the install was easy basically if you have any basic knowledge about cars the install will be simple. Dont spend more money than necessary this is the intake you want. -Gonzo

went from getting 12 mpg/city to now getting 19-20 mpg/city with my new S&B intake, super easy to install, just make sure when it calls to use an old valve cover hose that you dont break it like i did!

The S&B intake kit is a very good cold air intake for the money, I like the fact that the air cleaner is inside of a box that helps to keep some of the engine heat away from the air being drawn into the system. I would recommend this for anyone who has an older model Toyota pickup.
