Just purchased a lightly used Sierra 1500 and wanted to beef up the performance without getting a K&N as everyone has them. Banks makes a great product that looks great and works better. The engine note changes at ~4000 RPM w/an immediate difference in power. Installation is a breeze with the right tools (roughly 3-4 hours while not rushing). The all black look is mean and no cutting/altering was required. Best advice is to pair with an exhaust system to funnel added engine noise to the rear

This works. You'll hear or read about little to no gains from adding a CAI, but there is a noticeable difference. By no means are you going to gain the numbers on the box at daily driving RPMs. I have noticed an overall improvement in the transmission shifting smoother and a much better response from the skinny pedal. Banks makes the be quality anything IMO.

I was driving down the interstate with my Banks CAI in the back of my truck and it blew out of the truck and got hit by an eighteen wheeler. Blew the box apart, parts went everywhere then another car hit the intake tube! Amazingly nothing broke, just got scuffed up and I found all the pieces. Intake is on the truck now and works great. Great quality. Still cant beleave nothing broke after getting hit by a peterbuilt. More that satisfied.

Hard to tell if any performance or milage gains. The Banks air box did not mount exactly as advertised. Had to grind one side of the fastener/washer flat to get the mount fastner to work since there was no recess in the Banks box for the front right hand corner. The side intake of the bank air box did not come with foam to help isolate the air box from taking in hot air from the engine bay. I bought and installed foam to ensure only outside air enters the air box. For the price I would have assumed that BANKS would have covered these little details.

Very pleased with the appearance and overall performance of my Banks Cold Air Intake. The sound is great and there is a noticeable, though NOT TOO noticeable, difference in the "get up and go". Im adding the Banks Monster Exhaust and Banks Headers next. Im sure the major difference will be seen then! GOOD PURCHASE. Cant go wrong with banks!
