Spectre Cold Air Intake Part #9970 Customer Reviews
Reviewed by Lisa C (WILLIS, TX) Reviewed for a 2010 Ford Expedition — Jul 25, 2015 4:00 AM
My husband installed this quickly in my 2010 Ford Expedition. He said it was pretty easy. Sounds good when I step on the gas. I'm really hoping for a savings in gas mileage but I haven't seen that yet since I've only drove around with it once in town. So far everything seems good and it has good noise and a little better pep.

"Reconnect the PCV fresh air hose to the PCV hose adapter." There's a LOT more to it than that! If you follow the instructions to a "T", you'll essentially have everything connected and ready to be tightened, but still have the PCV hose adapter hanging out on your work bench. This part needs to be fed through the hole in the rubber throttle body (90-degree EPDM coupler) PRIOR to installation, and you must apply pressure to the adapter from inside the elbow in order to re-connect the hose.

Parts fit together badly. Had to stretch the rubber sleeves to fit over the openings of the pipes. It looks ok, better then the cheap crap on eBay, but not as nice as a K&N.

Bought one of these for my 2010 F-150. price was reasonable, install was easy and mileage went up 1.5 MPG. happy with the purchase.

Not sure exactly when I ordered this. It took approx. a month to arrive due to back order. It was easy to install but I don't understand why they have to cut the tube so short. I barely am able to get in to stay in both ends. Another half inch for both ends would have made installation perfect. As for performance, it does seem to have more response and I like the growl on acceleration. Not sure yet about hp or mpg increases.

the metal tube needs to be 1 inch longer on the long end, the clamp on the rubber 90 degree just picks it up, directions not real clear, put the rubber gasket on after you have installed the heat shield, makes it much easier.
