Spectre Cold Air Intake Part #9900W Customer Reviews
Reviewed by Perry B (EDWARDS, CA) Reviewed for a 2005 Chevy Tahoe — Dec 14, 2015 8:34 PM
I have always gotten K&N intakes for all of my vehicles, but after I read all the reviews of Spectre, I wanted to give it a shot. I would say it is very comparable to a similar metal intake by K&N, with similar hp and mpg gain, but for half the price. This is the price an air intake should be. Install was easy, and the parts fit great. Great product, will recommend.

This intake was pretty easy to install, the instructions were pretty clear, And I noticed a much faster throttle response in my 2003 Silverado 4.8

...if you cut a notch in the radiator fan housing. The clearance is probably less than an inch between the fan and the rubber elbow of the air intake...but the whole thing seems very secure. Have had it running for a week with no problems. Because I installed the air intake at the same time as the throttle spacer...I don't know which unit to give credit to the little extra 'kick' in performance I have. My check engine light came on after 2 days....don't know if that's related.....

Definitely noticed the horsepower and torque gains instantly...drove with it for about 200 miles them did a mpg check and got 18.2 mpg....a little better than the 16ish that i was getting...this thing makes my truck sound a lot better too.
