MAFS slot welded on upside down

It was delivered quickly and came packed very well. However when installing it I realized that the Mass Airflow Sensor slot was welded on upside down so it did not fit properly. Rather then drilling new holes in my new intake or tyring to deal with returns I merely cut a section out of the MAFS and used a washer to keep the screw in place. It seems to be working well. All in all I have not noticed significant power gains but have seen a decent jump in mileage, but the sound is great!

First,it's NOT a 45 minute job most of the parts worked OK but the mounting tag for the air sensor was welded on upside down and backward. We had to drill and retap the holes to install the sensor properly. With out the tools and know how we would have had to re install factory intake and return the system.

When I buy a new product and take it out of the box and have to modify it to make my vehicle even run... There is a problem there. It looks good and fits good, but if installed per the directions it will not work. There is zero increase in mileage, but at the seat of the pants the truck feels like it kicks down a little stronger. I didn't want to spend $300 + on a Name brand top of the line CAI so I think I did get what I paid for. Overall it's decent.

Great product, terrible instructions

Great product, can definitely tell there is some added power and a little better mileage. Instructions are extremely blurry so they are hard to follow. Still only took 45 minutes to install though.

Why buy name brand? When you can have this.

This cold air intake is the best money can buy that's not name brand. The only thing I can say bad is the pics in the instructions are blurry but with any machical know how any one can install this intake.

The unit is good looking and easy to install. The intake tube could have a higher quality finish but for the money you can't go wrong.

Pretty good

It was easy to install, I could not close my hood because the box was to high, so I had to customize it a bit.

Overall good buy!

Great air intake! Much less expensive than the competition and does the same job. only complaint is the MAF had to be rigged the opposite way on the intake- the insert on the tube was incorrectly drilled at the factory, so putting the MAF the way it was drilled would not read. Simple fix is to just screw in the MAF upside down to get a reading. LOVE the acceleration though, and already saving gas vs stock air intake. Good job spectre.
