K&N 57 Series FIPK Air intake system on 2006 Avalanche

Reviewed By David S (CLEARFIELD, UT) Reviewed for a 2006 Chevy Avalanche —4/15/2014 12:26 PM

Easy to install, about an hour... Hard plastic tube from throttle body to filter bracket location rests on top of my upper radiator hose, don't know if that will cause issues later on. I have noticed that it idles smoother while parked with engine running, and its too soon to tell of any improvement in gas mileage. Slight improvement noticed in HP but nothing to get excited about.

Okay

Took about an hour to install. Had a couple hoses that didn't show on the directions that restricted how far I could move the throttle body. I installed this with a K&N panel filter. I was getting 16.5 MPG before the install and now I am getting 17.4 MPG driving in town and on the highway. The truck seems to have more throttle response and I have not heard any whistle. I was hoping for 18-19 MPG on the highway but it is what it is. Overall not a bad product.
