"I don't know about the mpg gain yet but it did smooth out a "dead spot" this truck had when taking off. The sound it makes when you hit it was a nice surprise. I did have 2 problems and 1 issue. 1) no instructions at all came with the intake.(got it from your website) 2) the clamp the attaches the intake pipe to the manifold , was too small. You supply 3 large vlamps in your package, all the same size but that one was about an inch or more shy.
issue: I called your tech support when I saw I had no instructions, left a message but never got a return call. Same as when I recently sent an email questioning the diffrence between 2 exhausts you make and again, no response." —Sass J from Huntington Station, NY bought a Volant Cold Air Intakes for a 2008 Chevy Suburban, 5.3L V8.
"i love the k&n 63 series, it was very easy to install i have a 2008 suburban so my fuel mileage wasnt very good. after installing the system i notice about 4mpg increase i was very excited, plus the sound it make when u put your foot into it sounds great.." —Ray S from Medford , OR bought a K&N 63 Series AirCharger High-Flow Intake Kit for a 2008 Chevy Suburban.
"The Volant Cold Air Intake was better than I expected. It was easy to install and everything fit as the instructions described. Also I was surprised at how quiet it was. I cannot tell much difference in the sound of the OE system and the Volant at normal accelleration and while cruising. The only time it is louder is during hard accelleration.
I think the Volant is a real good and high quality system." —Lee M from Richmond, TX bought a Volant Cold Air Intakes for a 2008 Chevy Suburban, 5.3L V8.
"It took me about 2 hrs. to install. I took my time and it has a real clean look. I think the hardware descriptions could be improved on, it was more tedious than it had to be. Overall, I would say the installation was easy. The "Burb" runs smoother and definitely has better performance. A big improvement with the acceleration and I love the "roar". I feel like a kid again and my wife thinks I added pipes,(lol) it really has a good sound. I would highly recommend it for all "Burb" owners. Well worth the $$$. It's too early for mileage analysis, but it's got to be better for as smooth as she runs. I'm still a little feisty with it anyway. One word to sum it up - "Smooth", from the order to the drive." —John F from Roswell, GA bought a K&N 63 Series AirCharger High-Flow Intake Kit for a 2008 Chevy Suburban, 1500, 5.3L V8.
"Just installed this past Friday. Took a little longer than I expected. The instructions are not very detailed and takes time to figure out which screws and parts go where. Also it has one of the last steps as attaching the filter itself but there is not enough room to do so without unmounting the assembly again and then remounting after the filter is attached, frustrating! The air intake definitely increases power. Sound level increases a little with standard driving but increases when you punch the throttle or are at high speeds. I would recommend to anyone who is looking a more power. I haven't had it long enough to see a fuel savings yet." —Daniel C from Rockville, MD bought a K&N 63 Series AirCharger High-Flow Intake Kit for a 2008 Chevy Suburban, 1500, 5.3L V8.
