Install took about a half an hour total. Sounds really nice!

I originally had an AEM cold air intake, but that setup had utilized the old Vortec box that connected to the throttle body. Well the metal clamp broke off and the Vortec box was just sitting on there not clamped down, and GM no longer makes that part, so I had no choice but to shop around and found that the K&N 57 Air Intake connected directly to the throttle body on top of the engine of my 1999 Chevy Suburban. Just came back from a 3000 mile road trip and it performed excellently.

This intake works very well. The appearance is fantastic and the horse power on my 2001 Chevy Surburban has dramatically improved. However the installation was extremely difficult. The intake went in on about an hour with little help from below average instructions. Except when I attempted to close the hood. It would NOT close. The metal housing that surrounds the air filter was 3 inches above maximum clearance. After another hour of grinding the hood finally closed. Installing is a nightmare!
