Performance Enhancing

Reviewed By Robert H (Tempe, AZ) Reviewed for a 2001 Dodge Neon —1/19/2011 6:36 PM

I installed this filter in my 2001 Dodge Neon ES, which is definitely an underpowered car from the factory. After installing the kit, I noticed that there was a very noticeable increase in performance, both from stop and accelerating while trying to pass. The kit was not difficult to install, although it was necessary to bevel the top of the filter to get the Intake Air Sensor and connector for breather tube on, as the hole was a little to small stretch, even when lubricated with silicon grease. In the kit, one of the mounting braces doesn't mount to the frame of the car and the K&N air filter box at the same time (needs slight bending) The actual parts kit should have cost lest for what I got, although I got a great deal. However, I'm happy with the purchase.

WOW!!!

Reviewed By Teresa B (South Saint Paul, MN) Reviewed for a 2001 Dodge Neon —2/2/2010 6:45 AM

I recently purchased one about a week ago for my intake. I live in Minnesota, so you can never tell how much rain is gonna come. At first I didnt think that something like this would work as well as it does. It was easy to put on, even though I have an AEM intake, the appearance is really nice, and it does its job so well. It is in the middle of winter here now and all the slush and dirt gets kicked up from the road when the snow melts and the hydro shield works well to keep my filter clean, and the hydro shield itself stays clean too. So no matter what brand intake you have, you should think about getting one of these if you are worried about engine damage caused by hydrolocking. They are cheap, stylish, and they do do there job.

easy to install. in 35 min my car was ready for a test drive. i really felt that it works after i drove about 30 miles. not a huge gain in hp, but defenitly a very nice gain, and very nice sound. didin't had time to figure it out about the gas milleage, but so far didin't seemd to got any worse. will buy another one for my next car.
