Chriz

The hose clamps for the oil breather line are ill-fitting and need to be replaces as they looked ridiculous. Also the intake box does not seal to the hood at all. There is a rubber gasket provided which would make you believe that it seals to the hood when closed, but that is not the case. The product looks good otherwise and was very economical compared to other manufacturers. Absolutely no change in gas mileage from the drop in K&N filter I previously used.

Looks great, noticeable performance increase, although vent hose has to be cut and very difficult to slide over OEM TUBE. Should be form fitted. Barbed threaded fitting is plastic and will very easily snap because of hose installation. Metal fitting should be supplied instead of plastic. Available from amazon. Good luck getting parts from manufacturer.

2005 Dodge Ram 1500, 4.7L AEM intake

Reviewed By Erik L (KATY, TX) Reviewed for a 2005 Dodge Ram —12/17/2014 4:18 PM

Installation took about 4 hours on my 05 Ram 4.7L because I'm not too mechanically experienced & had trouble installing the IAT & rubber grommet in the tube. Removal & installation used a 9mm, 10mm, 13mm and 5/16" sockets along with a flathead screwdriver & an extra pair of hands at one point to install the filter. I did NOT use jack/jackstands. Idk about mileage, but throttle response has definitely improved and it roars really nice around 2.5K+ RPMs.
