"this is pretty good, you can tell there is more horse power about 10minutes after it goes on, installed it in about 20min. had to go out and buy a longer hose, 6 dollars not bad, my mpg changed a little gettin 1-2 more now, good product for the price" —Wes F from Southampton, MA bought a Spectre Cold Air Intake for a 1999 Dodge Ram, 5.2L V8.
"The concept is valid - more air in to the engine equals greater output, and this system makes use of that concept. I have the extra "cold air scoop" which runs next to the radiator and pulls in air from the grill. But do not be fooled about the advertised HP gains, they are NEVER what the manufactures advertise. I know because my father has his own shop with a dyno. My brothers and I are always using the thing to test add on's and improvements. NO AIR INTAKE adds the HP the manufacture claims (most notably K+N) but I can tell you it does add a very small amount of HP. Any addition is good for the engine, as the engine works less to make the same speed, and therefore you save gas. On a stock engine expect a few extra HP - my highly modified engine gained 3 HP..." —Krishna S from Lake Worth, FL bought a Volant Cold Air Intakes for a 1999 Dodge Ram, 5.9L V8.
"Looks pretty cool under the hood. But had some issues with installation. First, the tree rivet align in filter box was off a bit, so drilled hole in fender well. Next, the alignment of the filter box was high and it was lifting the seal off the throttle body (very bad situation). Fortunately, I simply removed the rubber bumper from the filter box to get alignment. Scoop had me worried, but only needed to bend the horn mounts a bit to get it fitted. Have noticed smoother performance with a bit more power on the throttle, and I like it!" —Russell J from Albuquerque, NM bought a Volant Cold Air Intakes for a 1999 Dodge Ram.
"I recieved the K&N Air intake three days ahead of schedule and began to put it on. The directions were not bad, but when I was ready to put it on I noticed that I was missing a key ingredient the nut extension that holds the actual intake down. After a few choice words and a call to customer service that wasen't very helpful I went to the hardware store and got a 3 1/2" bolt to replace the missing part. I took it for a test drive and could notice a big difference in the throttle response and hoursepower. Haven't really checked on the mpg, but all in all very pleased with intake." —Matt H from Lexington, SC bought a K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) for a 1999 Dodge Ram.
"The intake was easy to bolt on. It only took about 20 minutes to install. It sounds good and gave me quicker acceleration. The price wasn't to bad compared to other intakes but its worth the extra." —Mark F from Shelby, NC bought an aFe Cold Air Intakes for a 1999 Dodge Ram.
