1999 Ford Explorer Limited SOHC 4.0 V6

Reviewed By Adrian H (Chandler, AZ) Reviewed for a 1999 Ford Explorer —4/22/2012 8:13 AM

The install was very simple. It didn't look as clean as I would have liked with the number of hose clamps. Also the molding around the heat shield needed to be trimmed by about an inch for it to fit properly. Initially none of the tubes or hoses matched up perfectly but once tightened and driven a bit the engine heat set everything up and it is rock solid. I retightened all of the clamps and bolts about two weeks after the install and they have stayed tight ever since. As for performance. The engine definitely roars when you put your foot into it, and that's out of a little V6. Gas mileage went from 16-18MPG in the city, and from 22-26 on the highway. You also get a noticeable increase in acceleration and response. AutoAnything was great. Shipping was ridiculously fast. I had it the next day. Didn't even have time to hide it from the wife!

Excellent! I recommend it to anybody

Reviewed By Waren L (Kissimmee, FL) Reviewed for a 1998 Ford Explorer —11/3/2013 12:02 PM

Recently I purchased aFe Cold Air Intake and a Throttle body Spacer aFe, easy installation, apperance, I felt more power immediately after installed, I think I gained MPG too, but the best part is I got it way lot cheaper that other places, free shipping and courteous customer service, definitely I will be buying again. I was looking forward to the whistling noise people keep talking about, I can not hear any whistling. Good job to the people of Autoanything in keeping prices low.

Low end boost

The Brute Force really seemed to give my Explorer Sport some much needed low end power. I think I might have even heard a tire squeal!
