2014 3.5l ecoboost

I have had 3 other K&N systems on other vehicles and always liked them. I am not impressed by this one. I was surprised by the lack of quality that the other systems had. Some of the clamps included were incorrect size so I had to take them off the factory pipe and use them here. The intake pipe could stand to be longer so there is more area to clamp to. Also, and this in not a system problem but, the throaty sound these normally produce is missing on this motor.

Zoom - Zoom

Yes, the purchase as well as the installation of this product was a bit scary to me. On the last day of a killer AutoAnything sale, I caved, and ordered one. The night of receipt I did much of the assembly on the kitchen counter, wrestling a bit with the top seal. The instructions are near perfect and it went in without a glitch. I have no new mileage figures to report, but there is more power on tap (5.0) and the sound is mostly acceptable, remaining quiet until called upon. No regrets.

K & N Intake

I really like the K&N intake. It took me just over an hour to remove the stock intake and install the K&N intake. I love the way that it sounds. It looks good to. Have not seen an increase in gas mileage yet since I keep my foot on the gas pedal to feel and hear the power increase. My next road trip I will see if it has helped on MPG. My Raptor needs all of the MPG it can get.
