I recently purchased a used 2009 F150 FX4 and the first thing I upgraded was this air intake system. Taking the stock system off just makes the engine sound so much better when accelerating. Installation was quite simple, but the stock MAF sensor torx screw bottomed out into the polished tube before it was tight and I stripped the hole. Not that big of a deal, just used a shorter, larger diameter screw. As far as performance, I noticed slightly faster pedal response and the fuel economy is between 0.5 - 1.0 mpg improvement. And with many of the newer vehicles today, the engine must relearn its idle and fuel trim strategy for optimum driveability and performance.
