"There was a slightly noticeable increase in horsepower and gas milage. This intake also makes my 02 'stang sound a lot meaner. However, the vent on the side of the tube is made of cheap plastic and broke. I called K&N and told them what happened and a new kit arrived a week later free of charge. I would still definitely recommend this intake." —Teresa G from Ligonier, IN bought a K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) for a 2002 Ford Mustang.
"I have had the K&N kit on for about two weeks now and I can notice a increase in gas mileage. From 220 to 250 a tank on a 13 gallon tank. The sound you get from going to the FPIK is great. you can hear the air getting sucked in. There was only one problem i had. For one of the molds it was messed up and i had to buy a tap and die kit. Plus K&N tech support was great at all. est time to install 45 mins" —Josh P from Huntington Beach, CA bought a K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) for a 2002 Ford Mustang.
"I thought the AEM intake was a very nice product. If you want a new intake buy this one. You can hear it sucking in the air (as long as you dont have a loud exhaust) and it sounds super cool. Read the directions carefully though. It isn't clear on certain things. Over all. good product. I only noticed about 1-2 MPG increase, but it will drop like crazy if you get on it a lot. So be careful with that." —Paul S from Kansas City, MO bought an AEM Brute Force Air Intakes for a 2002 Ford Mustang, GT, 4.6L V8.
"Noticeably better throttle response and what a looker. It makes the engine compartment of new GT500 look like a slug. The install took less than 1 hour(w/interruptions) and requires a 10mm socket. What a great way to personalize your "stang" without breaking the bank. Injen quality fit & finish is superb. I'm lookin at doing it to my S2000 next.
I'm out and in luv.....Ken" —Ken W from Clarinda, IA bought an Injen Power-Flow Cold Air Intake System for a 2002 Ford Mustang.
"The pros: The system is good quality, fit is good and there is noticable improvement in throttle response. This is not going to make a drag car out of the mustang, but there is a boost. It looks pretty sharp in the car.
The Con: for this era mustang GT the filter installation is a nightmare. I had to jack the car up on one side and install the filter blind in the finderwell. Whoever's brainchild this was needs to be put in a corner with a dunce cap on. Those folks who say a 10 minute installation must have a lift or gumby arms. Also, the instructions leave a lot to the imagination - again, this is intended for folks with moderate degree of mechanical aptitude.
Overall, I would still buy this again, but I wish the filter was not such a bear to install/clean. A+++ except for the installation" —Mark H from Catlett, VA bought a BBK Power-Plus Cold Air Intake Systems for a 2002 Ford Mustang, GT, 4.6L V8.
"Took three trys to get the rubber seal on the heat sheild correctly, the rest of the installation was a breeze." —William B from Jensen Beach, FL bought a K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) for a 2002 Ford Mustang, 5.4L V8.
"I love the way the K&N FIPK sounds and looks in my car. It's not to flashy and all metal looking. It blends well into the other parts in the engine." —Heather M from Odenton, MD bought a K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) for a 2002 Ford Mustang, GT, 4.6L V8.
"I bought this intake because I wanted to get better mileage and throttle response while possibly gaining some economy. This kit fits really well. Everything that you require for the installation is in the kit.It look really good under the hood and is very well made. The only thing I was a little unhappy with was the EGR tubes began to develop surface rust inside the inlet tube and that one of the cross over hoses was a little short after installing the kit. Other than that, everything was Great. Would definitely recommend to a friend." —William J from Crestview, FL bought a BBK Power-Plus Cold Air Intake Systems for a 2002 Ford Mustang.
