"Spectre is building a VERY similar product to K&N at a much better price. I recently installed this intake on my 5.3L 2000 GMC stepside truck. Installation was simple once I realized it was not "prebuilt"... the plastic elbow that attaches to the truck's intake was installed backward on the intake, with the long end presumably attaching to the intake. I sliced away part of my fan cowl before I realized that you just need to reverse the intake connector opposite of the way it is shipped." —Richard H from Santa Fe, NM bought a Spectre Cold Air Intake for a 2000 GMC Sierra.
"Easily bolted on in about an hour. Fits well as promised, but would suggest removing part of the fan shroud as it mentions in step 29 (firm plastic shroud cover cuts easily even with the small saw on my Leatherman tool)." —David M from Glendale, AZ bought a K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) for a 2000 GMC Sierra, 1500, 5.3L V8.
"Great intake tube. Works wonders when paired with K&N drop-in filter. Driving sensibly, with this combo installed on my 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L V8 I get 20mpg, no lie. I love it!" —Scott F from Berlin, PA bought an Airaid Modular Intake Tube for a 2000 GMC Sierra.
"I had wanted the k&n 77 for a long time, but I did not belive it would do what it said it could. Belive me it does! Why did I wait so long." —Augustus B from Camden, SC bought a K&N 77 Series Metal Intake Kit for a 2000 GMC Sierra.
"FIPK kit sounds good, it seems like my engine can breathe a little better. Not a significant improvement using the 'butt dyno' but definitely a good (pricey) product. Looks very nice under the hood, and easy to install. I always like to use a trusted brand." —Steven F from Severn, MD bought a K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) for a 2000 GMC Sierra, SS, 6.0L V8.
"THE VOLANT AIR INTAKE IS THE BEST I HAVE EVER USED. K&N DOESNT COME NO WHERE CLOSE TO THIS... AMAZING SOUND WHEN YOU JUMP ON IT. SAW A LIL FUEL CHANGE BUT FOR THE PRICE IT AWESOME..." —Roberto Q from Houston, TX bought a Volant Cold Air Intakes for a 2000 GMC Sierra, 5.3L V8.
"Contrary to most reviews, the first thing I noticed after the installation was how quiet the truck was. It wasn't gasping for air anymore I guess. I light up a Punch Rare Corojo and had it installed in about 1 1/2 hours (I had one eye closed the whole time). You feel the power improvements. It's a must have, when you can scrape up the cash. AutoAnything had a great price too." —Pat G from Auburn, AL bought a K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) for a 2000 GMC Sierra.
"My husband put this into our truck and we do see a great difference, along with putting a new muffler on, because of a hole in the center, works good." —Faye H from Farmington, NH bought a K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) for a 2000 GMC Sierra.
"Great acceleration, good sound, breath's right now. Totally recommend this product to everybody who want some easy bolt on horsepower gains." —Gerardo G from La Joya, TX bought a K&N 77 Series Metal Intake Kit for a 2000 GMC Sierra.
"I've been looking at the K&N Cold Air Intake for my 2000 GMC Sierra Sportside for some time and finally took the plunge. This was a very easy installation and fit almost perfectly. On my first couple of spins, I instantly felt the responsiveness in the accelerator. A little louder and throatier sound, but with my stainless Magnaflow Exhaust ... it sounds pretty awesome. Not sure what kind of mileage improvement I'll see, but hoping for 2-3 mpg better. We'll see. Other than that ... sorry I waited so long to get this .... my GMC has plenty of kick now ... and sounds sweet. BTW, I did paint the ugly black tube with a silver paint ... and it looks almost as good as the aluminum tube version which costs more, and doesn't have quite the same horsepower gain that this kit does. Thanks Autoanything ... item arrived exactly on the date you said it would. Will buy again from you." —Clifford C from Endwell, NY bought a K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) for a 2000 GMC Sierra, 1500, 5.3L V8.
