Airaid PowerAid Throttle Body Spacer Reviews

Airaid PowerAid Throttle Body Spacer

Reviewed By James B (Riverdale, MD) Reviewed for a 2003 GMC Yukon XL —8/19/2013 8:24 PM

I had to turn a couple of clamps (ends) to have room for the extra width of the throttle body spacer. You may knock off/separate a coolant line underneath by accident but it's no biggie very little will run out and you just oush them back together. I didn't get a whine that many say they get. I didn't notice any extra power. The TBS itself is made different than for some other engines. The TBS pictured its thicker and provides more space to get a better response.

what a wake up

Reviewed By Brant S (Jefferson, IA) Reviewed for a 2003 GMC Yukon XL —2/11/2013 8:24 PM

The installation of this intake system was really quick and easy. One thing I didn't like was that I had to trim the fan shroud to have clearance for the tube. That was just a minor pain not enough to affect the rating. There is a definite increase in power and makes the flowmaster exhaust sound great as well!

Impressive upgrade on 2003 Yukon XL 4wd

Reviewed By Claus R (Bolingbrook, IL) Reviewed for a 2003 GMC Yukon XL —2/23/2010 7:59 PM

Have only had the CAI kit installed for 2 weeks, but so far have found Spectre's product just as good as the others I've installed and used in the past. Very good quality & fit/finish. And with it costing much less, this one has definitely been the best bang for the buck. Installation was easy on the Yukon. 'Course you will have to put a little effort in putting on a couple rubber tubes that fit very nicely, but that's how the others were, so no surprises. Take your time to install and you shouldn't have any problems. Yukon feels a little stronger, and at or near WOT, sounds absolutely awesome and way better than the stock intake. My wife is even hooked. When we're behaving with the throttle, engine sounds normal/stock (not loud at all), and we've noticed about a 2mpg improvement on highway and around 1 mpg gain in city driving. After driving ours, my buddy just picked up the same Spectre kit for his 04 Suburban.
