It is quiet

Great kit. I was looking for increase in gas mileage and power without increase in intake noise. This kit fits the bill exactly.

2011 GMC Yukon XL. Many buyers may not have all of the installation tools readily available to install this air filter kit. First off, you'll need a 5/8" drill bit. I'll bet most buyers don't have one of those laying around. You have to drill a 5/8" hole to accomplish the install. I am an intermediate mechanic, so I had one. Next, the fasteners are a mix of metric and SAE so be sure to have both a set of wrenches and sockets in both configurations. K&N does a poor job of telling you which fasteners to use where. The only way to figure this out is to refer to the image diagram at the front of the manual and then locate the fastener size in the table below. This means you are constantly referring to the first page of the manual. Otherwise excellent, excellent product. Better mileage and performance.

K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (50-State Legal) Reviews

I installed the K&N FIPK om my 2004 Tahoe 4.8 liter. Installation took 2-3 hours, but I wasn't in a hurry. No problems at all, everything fit and the instructions were clear. There is an expected increase in intake noise but I don't find that objectionable. The Tahoe seems to have improved low-end torque and is more responsive overall. I don't have enough time / miles on it to see any change in mpg.
