"Installation was easy. Noticed better gas mileage. Not sure about more horsepower. Hummer H3 5 cylinder lacks power in Rockey Mountains Denver area. Otherwise happy with performance. Did not come with top lid on air box??" —James A from Crawford, CO bought an aFe Cold Air Intakes for a 2006 Hummer H3, 3.5L 5-cyl. engine.
"The instructions were easy to follow. it took me about
1.5 hours to install it. the only problem that I could see
was that the air tube, air filter comes in contact with the
bottom of the circle cutout in the heat shield. This is
causing a vibration when I accelerate quickly.Other than thatit woks great. Haven't had it on long enough to check
for a increase in mph." —Brian P from Winnipeg, MB bought a K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) for a 2006 Hummer H3, 3.5L 5-cyl. engine.
"I have not had my intake for long enough to be able to determine fuel consumption but from the times I have driven the car since installation, it seems to have improved. I love the destinct hum coming from the intake during acceleration and installation was a breeze." —Hector R from Miami, FL bought a K&N 77 Series Metal Intake Kit for a 2006 Hummer H3.
"THE AIR INTAKE REALLY WORK WELL.YOU CAN FEEL THE INCREASE IN HORSE POWER. IT'S JUST A LITTLE NOISEY." —James P. M from Nogales, AZ bought a K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) for a 2006 Hummer H3.
"Install was a snap, good directions, 1st couple of tanks not as much mileage improvement as I hoped. Seems like a major improvement in horsepower though!" —Tim W from Salina, KS bought a K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) for a 2006 Hummer H3, 3.5L 5-cyl. engine.
"Very good product. Instantly saw more power, quicker throttle response, and better sound.
Excellent bang for the buck." —Kelly C from Rock Springs, WY bought an AEM Brute Force Air Intakes for a 2006 Hummer H3, 3.5L 5 cyl. engine.
"I can Feel the POWER!!! little 5 banger Hummer H3 is under powered YOU NEED THIS!!! I CAN FEEL THE DIFFERENCE NO JOKE!!!" —Mike M from Albuquerque, NM bought a K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) for a 2006 Hummer H3.
"Ferocious, Growls like a Bear from the moment one steps on the pedal, The sound is as nasty as it gets when it comes to accelerating from a stationary position. Words and images cannot really describe the full effect of installing this K&N performance Cold Air Intake.
The moment I started the engine after install, the growl was very evident. Mind you I was still in my driveway. All BS aside, the performance in terms of power, quicker acceleration, and higher RPMs before switching into the higher gears will really amaze you. Though the H3 speedometer goes up to 110mph.. at about 90mph, the computer adjust\restricts additional power to the engine. With this K&N CAI, I'm hitting 100mph (Note: In a controlled environment) plus with more power to spare. The actual vehicle traction control light periodically lights up when I get on it!!!
I have not really seen the MPG (91 Octane) increase that some have stated but like others, it's soooooooooooooooooooo hard to keep your foot out of it. So in summary, AutoAnything had the best price out there, shipping was very quick, and even there Customer Service Dept\K&N Techs were very helpful in answering an edge Trim question. The K&N CAI picture parts diagram needs to be magnified 2X to distinguish certain bolts\nuts from others. Removing the stock resonator and my previous K&N Air filter was pretty much a breeze. What took the most time was assembling the heat shield and wrapping the rubber edging around the heat shield. All in all, a very simple install, but you must have the stated ratchet tools and the smaller extender to fasten the support arm to your H3 engine. It took me approx. 1.5 hours from beginning to end. The first week of use, I actually saw a decrease in MPG but going into the second week and driving more sensible while predominately highway driving, I am starting to notice a slight increase in mpg, but it is so hard from just getting on it when you see a fellow H3 next to you. If performance is what your looking for, I would s" —Rashawn L from Sicklerville, NJ bought a K&N 77 Series Metal Intake Kit for a 2006 Hummer H3, 3.5L 5-cyl. engine.
"It made a definite difference in the upper rpm range. I can't tell a difference under normal driving, but when I floor it, it sounds much louder and is a little quicker." —Michael B from Loganville, GA bought a K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) for a 2006 Hummer H3.
"Installation was easy on my 2008 GMC truck. It took about 45 mins and went very well.
I'm told it takes about 5 hrs for the engine ECU to learn the mapping of more air. So at first I really could not feel a change.
Then the other day I needed to pass someone. I hit the gas and I could feel the change then.
It's not a lot, but it's there. I feel it's more of a cool looking factor than anything else, and I like the fact that the Power Core is a dry filter. No Oiling...I like that.
I give it 4 out of 5 stars." —Robert B from Lewisville, TX bought a Volant Cold Air Intakes for a 2006 Hummer H3, New body style, 5.3L V8.
"I feel that the K/N intake system made a difference in the performance of the H3
I bought the K&N Product Information for 57-3043
57 Series FIPK > Performance Intake Kit
And why I do feel a difference in power in low end and passing that it is one component in a 3 pack
I have not checked the gas mileage as of yet." —Rusty G from Sanger, CA bought a K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) for a 2006 Hummer H3, 3.5L 5-cyl. engine.
