Not sure which 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Cold Air Intakes are right for you? We have over 18563 customer reviews, with an average rating of 4.5, to help you find exactly what you're looking for. Here's what some of our customers have said:
"Packaging was 100% satisfactory! One BIG MINUS was the heat-shield included was for the wrong model vehicle, hence my setup isn't using one. I haven't contacted AEM or A-A about this at present.
Another small issue is the clearance of the air-hat to the mounting surface of the throttle-body; the fit just isn't quite right. I went to Advance Auto and picked up some generic throttle-body-to-air tube gaskets (2) and that helped a bit.
The pluses... GREAT SOUND! The engine hisses a bit upon start-up, but depending on your take on the extra noise this could be good or a small annoyance.
The performance... Prevalent.
I switched from an open cone (similar to this kit) attached to the accordion hose on the stock setup. There is a VERY NOTICEABLE acceleration in second gear through final converter lockup.
The gas mileage... Small INCREASE. As long as you keep your foot out of the gas you'll see a nice increase especially when compared to a stock filter system. Traditionally, a trip of 450 miles with a mix of hills and flats would net my 23 gallon tank about 348 miles total. I now enjoy netting about 380-400 miles every tank. I could possibly see more, though I wouldn't be driving a 5.9 liter if I were very conscious of gas mileage v. a dollar.
Overall, I am pleasantly satisfied with this product. I have effectively been able to install this product and not worry about it." —Robert B from Morgantown, WV bought an AEM Brute Force Air Intakes for a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
"Well finished product. Gave the truck a nice growl. Only complaint was the somewhat loose fit at the throttle body..." —Chris A B from Maidstone, Ontario bought an AEM Brute Force Air Intakes for a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
"I am a proud owner of a 1998 5.9 Jeep GC. She's a beautiful ride but hard on mpg..... I did a lot of research before I purchased my C.A.I. I would strongly suggest purchasing from AutoAnything. Customer service is impecable, shipping precise and very fast. I chose the K&N FIPK for the simple reason that
I know I can trust their products, besides it guarantees an increase of 25 horsepower. Everything from quality, installation to performance of this awesome product passed my expectations "WOW" you won't be dissapointed.
I let my friend who helped me install the K&N be the first to drive the beast with the new uprgade. His responce was, I have to tell you - "my 2005 Nissan Titan has a lot more power with an AEM C.A.I"... I said the proof is in the pudding. Keep in mind my jeep is 8 years older and has less horse power. As we left work for the day we decided to solve this little delema. My jeep lunged off the line and the titan never stood a chance, (Jeep 1, Titan 0) lol. As far as the mpg, hmmmmmmmm having too much fun to bother checking, it appears though that it has improved. I am a true believer in this product and AutoAnything. Don't waste your time with other products. I purchased the intake for $269.00 during the Memorial sale with free shipping. I don't think you can beat AutoAnythings pricing or service. Just a reminder, "Jesus, is the answer to all your problems"." —Charles D from Redmond, OR bought a K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) for a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 5.9L V8.
"With gas prices going up I had to find ways to save. Many think that if you increase horsepower, you reduce gas mileage. True, unless you choose the right ways of increasing horsepower and still get better gas mileage. The AEM Brute Force Air Intake System, by allowing more airflow through the engine, although it increases horsepower (which is always great) actually INCREASES gas mileage because you are increasing the affectiveness and performance of the engine. Would recommend this product if you want both more horsepower and MORE GAS MILEAGE.

I have seen a real increase in power when pulling my travel trailer, which was my main reason for buying." —John R. S from Cumberland, MD bought a K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) for a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
"I got this FIPK Air Intake for christmas and I put it on that day, the Installation was pretty easy, and the directions made sense if you follow them exactly, I just didnt like the small pictures. As for the performance part, it gives my engine a deeper tone when I get on it and I have seen a improvement in the gas mileage. I really love it." —Deanna S from Greenville, SC bought a K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) for a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 4.0L 6-cyl. engine.
