K&N air intake for Jeep Wrangler TJ

Reviewed By mark s (SPRING MILLS, PA) Reviewed for a 2006 Jeep Wrangler —11/24/2014 12:27 PM

I found the K&N air intake system to be rather easy to install. I strongly recommend you follow the directions instead of plowing forward to save yourself time. For drilling the 3/4" hole for the temperature sensor I pre-drilled with an 1/8" bit then used a 3/4spade bit. Be sure to use an air compressor to dislodge any remaining shavings before installation. I noticed a difference in sound and torque, but as others mentioned the gas mileage doesn't improve due to using a heavier foot.

You can hear it suck in air while idling. Not as loud or noisy as most people say it is. (Maybe they installed it wrong) The only difficult part was drilling the whole in the firewall but once thats done the rest is easy.
