Volant Ram Air Scoop Reviews

A perfect accessory to the Volant Cold Air Intake (CAI)

Reviewed By Jeff C (Cary, NC) Reviewed for a 2004 Nissan Armada —7/28/2011 10:41 PM

The Volant ram scoop is very well constructed and brings cooler air from the driver's side bumper (on the Nissan Armada/Titan) to the CAI air box. The increase in cooler air flow was significant enough to force a new resetting of the ECU to compensate for the richer fuel/air mixture. Installation was okay (instructions were just about nil) and the CAI air box does need to be removed (if already installed) to access the lower port to attach the scoop. Overall, the ram air scoop is solidly built and a big boost for Volant CAI.

Great intake

Reviewed By Mark H (Renton, WA) Reviewed for a 2010 Nissan Armada —4/20/2011 12:29 AM

This is a great cold air intake. I've got a 14% improvement in gas mileage. This is the 2nd vehicle I've put one on - definitely an improvement in performance as well. My only complaint is the instructions for install are a bit incomplete. I had a very difficult time getting the box to fit in the space. I had to remove the metal post that the previous box was mounted to, also, the windshield washer parts push the unit ever so slightly out of position to where I could only get 1 mounting bolt to hold the unit down (instead of 2). A little bit irritating...

Replacement filter

Reviewed By roger c (NANTICOKE, MD) Reviewed for a 2009 Pontiac G8 —9/29/2015 5:07 AM

Purchased car used and came with Volant cold air intake. there was no record on how old filter was except a date stamped on the filter of Nov 11. I decided to replace after a recommendation from Volant. I was a little taken back on the price (expensive) but with a 4 year/100,000 mile change out it is cheaper that convention filters replacing at every 20,000 miles! Plus filtration is superior.
