The installation was not as smooth as some intakes that I have had on other vehicles in the past. I had to disassemble the pre-assembled filter box to install the intake. Once installed it fit well after some minor adjusting to get everything lined up. The optional ram/cold air tube required a very minor tweaking on the transmission cooler lines to fit and also required cutting of the radiator surround splash guard. I bought this intake in hopes of improving my fuel mileage but have yet to see a difference as it was installed just 2 days before a cross country trip and have no other highway driving to compare the mileage to. But after 600 miles on fairly level highway I was getting the EPA rated 16 MPG highway out of the truck which is 10 years old and has 70,000 miles on it. I definitely like the looks of the intake compared to others, and the material is thicker than most so it seems better put together and I would expect it to last longer.
