K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (50-State Legal) Reviews

Reviewed By gig m (Setauket, NY) Reviewed for a 1997 Toyota 4Runner —3/18/2008 10:35 AM

I installed my K&N in just over 2 hrs...but really knowing what i was getting into, I quickly summed it all up. The unit itself was not too hard in installing - once i had the basics of what i was going to do, what had to be done and how to do it.If I had to do another one of these i could do it in less than half the time. The only problem i had was that the instructions could be a little better. The drawings could be a little more detailed. I did have to resort to the internet for more(better diagrams) I also broke off the black plastic piece on the tube.I was able to find one at the auto parts store so i was back in business. I received my free replacement in the mail shortly after i called and told them. All in all i'm happy with install. I have not had it long enough to actually test the MPG but i can tell you that there is a lot more noise under the hood than before! I checked and found out the noise i was hearing is supposed to be normal.

Taylor Cable Helix Power Tower Throttle Body Spacer Reviews

Nice purchase

Reviewed By William C (JAMESTOWN, CA) Reviewed for a 2005 Toyota 4Runner —12/25/2015 12:24 AM

I wanted to add a little more power to my v8 4Runner. I read some reviews, did some research and settled on the Taylor Cable. I notice a pretty big torque gain with acceleration and lower gears. I installed the spacer after installing a K&N cold air intake, new exhaust, and a performance MAF sensor, so I'm not sure if the spacer makes a difference or not just throwing it in a stock vehicle, but I like it along with my other upgrades.

Volant Cold Air Intakes Reviews

Mostly impressed so far!

Reviewed By hal b (SAINT PAUL, MN) Reviewed for a 2015 Toyota 4Runner —11/17/2015 7:04 AM

Install was pretty easy. A couple things....I had to re-drill the mounting holes a little bit as they didn't match up perfectly. Also, the MAF sensor kept giving me "trac off" code. I had to use light lock-tite to make sure it didn't loosen up. Sound is good but not super impressive, I'm going to add exhaust next. Acceleration is improved as well as my mileage (up almost 1 mpg at this time already!). I drive 35,000 miles a year so this will pay for itself in no-time!
