"Acceleration improved and is much louder above 2500rpmRPM while commuting at 65 dropped from ~2200 to ~2000Gas milage improved ~ 1.5 mpg from 19 to 20.5 (first tank)Minor problems with fittings. Bolt holes for Mass Flow Sensor were 1 mm off and required work on the sensor to fit it. No other assembly problems it took 2.5 hours (1.5 hours playing with the sensor and dremmiling the holes to match)California emmisions sticker, improved acceleration, and better gas milage make it a good deal." —James P from Irvine, CA bought a K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) for a 2001 Toyota 4Runner.
"Purchased this for my son's 4Runner. He loves the sound when you accelerates quickly. Better than an exhaust that is always loud. We haven't had it long enough to determine whether there will be an improvement in gas mileage or power, but there should be a little of both with the design allowing maximum airflow into the engine." —Kevin D from Johnstown, PA bought a Spectre Cold Air Intake for a 2001 Toyota 4Runner.
"The intake was pretty easy to install. The price was a bit high, but it works great and gave me some extra power. You really get what you pay for. Thanks Volant!!Jeremy from Alabama" —Jeremy U from Florence, AL bought a Volant Cold Air Intakes for a 2001 Toyota 4Runner.
"I recently purchased and installed a K & N cold air intake in my 2001 Toyota 4Runner. I am not your typical 4Runner owner who takes the kids to Soccer practice, or drive to the Super Market. I am a hunter, who gets down and dirty going places that I sometimes wish I had not gone. When you are up to your hubs in mud and sand, horse power becomes an issue. I now have that power in my V-6 engine due to that installation. While it is too early to report, I have noticed a rather significant increase in gas mileage. Passing power is greatly improved, and as for the noise. She roars when you get on her, but I kind of like it. Toyota would have been wise to install these on all of their 3.4L V-6 engines. In these times of high fuel prices it is a wish choice, but I did it for the horse power at the tires." —Scott W from Lake Norden, SD bought a K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) for a 2001 Toyota 4Runner.
