Solid choice

The purchase of the aFe cold air intake was a solid decision. Overall installation was easy except for the trim seal which could be designed better. Everything else was a perfect fit. Shipping time was minimal and had it installed within one week of ordering. Sounds solid and made an immediate difference in power.

Installation was easy took about 1 hour. Hose connection to throttle body was not a friction fit, hose is approx 1/16" larger ID than throttle body OD. Other 3 hose to piping connections were all friction fit. Clamp tension is all that is holding the hose to the throttle body. Induction noise increased but not to a objectionable level, actually sounds good. Throttle response was greatly improved along with seat of the pants acceleration feeling. Start-up after installation was flaweless, smooth idle, and acceleration, did not detect any "relearn" hesitation or rough idle issues.

A straight forward installation, the engine cover heat shield, o.e., doesn't exactly fit the same after the installation, even with the pin extension, the back pin won't engage the hole, but it stays in place. It really does add horse power and it's sound is awesome. I think the MPG has gone down abt. 2 mpg, on the highway I used to avg. 16.1 MPG, it's now 14.4 after a 260 mi. road trip, I'm still very pleased. We'll see.
