Injen SP Series Cold Air Intake Reviews (1 of 250+)

This intake was installed on my 2005 Acura RSX-S. It's the first mod I have done to my car so far. I wanted an intake that could provide some power and didn't hit the bank as hard as a cold air intake does. This intake is the one. The install was a piece of cake. The sound it provides is perfect. The power, though maybe about 1/2-2/3 that of a cold air intake, is definitely there and can really pack a punch in the mid-high rpm range. Some people may be skeptical that a ram-air wont provide any noticable power differences are going to be proven wrong. Great intake for $100 less and probably 1 hour less to install. Great buy!

After debating on what system to go with for many weeks, while researching the Camaro 5 forum, I finally chose the Injen. So glad I did too. The install took a little time (1.5 hours). The instructions are the best I have ever seen for any of my projects for anything. Over 60 individual photos of every step along the way. This install may have taken some time compared to others but you are only installing it once. This is the only system that has proven itself on individual’s dyno runs. It looks and sounds great. Throttle response is tremendous at the low to mid range. I gained 1 MPG when testing it at a constant 70 MPH run for 25 mile runs on the highway. The price and help from Autoanything is top rated. Best price around for this unit.

Excellent product, came well packed and no damage, install was simple. Compleated the install in about 30 minutes including tool clean-up. A couple of notes, hose clamp on filter was a little small ended up switching to larger clamp I had on hand. Instructions direct you to install as staight as possible but when you do that the vacuum hose included in kit was about 1" short, it still worked but had to losen clamps and work things around. Also needed to use new hose clamps for vacuum hose, production ones were a little loose. Car seemed to have better mid-range power. Not sure of any increase in gas milage, have not had it on long enough to tell.

My first car mod. Did alot of research on AEM and Injen products for my Prelude. The Injen seemed like the smart choice being $40 less than than the V2 and producing pretty much the same horsepower. Went in fairly easy, but then again I'm not a car whiz. Front bumper did have to come off. Overall, fantastic growl above 3 grand. PLus it sounds like i have a blow off valve after i shift. Looks slick once installed. Not a huge boost in performance or mpg, but it's there.....only had it for a week though. Instructions that come with it are also fairly easy to follow. Overall i give it a 9 1/2 out of 10. Newbie's to this stuff can expect a 3 to 4 hour installation period.

Much easier to install than the CAI although I would change sequence of tasks slightly when installing lower pipe. I found it easier to install boot to pipe first rather than boot to end tank. In my opinion, makes for less fuss to avoid nicks in your pipe finish. Either way, aligning pipe correctly took me 3 tries (working myself). Had to spin/align clamps in order to have clear tool access to tighten. Now that I have both units in place, we'll see what HP can be gotten. Next step - off to the tuner to get max HP & torque otherwise stuck at stock settings.
