K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (50-State Legal) Reviews

K&N 57 Series FIPK Air

Reviewed By Russell G (Reno, NV) Reviewed for a 2007 Mazda Miata/MX-5 —10/16/2014 9:52 PM

I've only had it on for a week, so it's too soon to say if there is any mileage increase. The concept of this filter is better than most offered because it takes cold air from the original air inlet built into the car without taking apart the whole front end, as is required with most other intakes. Perhaps a bit more accel. and a bit more air intake noise which is ok with me,Instrcutions for install were good both in the package and on line.

Doc Meyer

I had it professionaly installed as the front end and inner fender liner needed to be removed. However, only took 1 hr labor. I've noticed mild increased power but am concerned about taking it through a carwash as did not fire up immediately afterwards. The air filter intake is right behind the grill and got wet. Manufacturer advised to avoid "inclement weather" I do not drive my Mazda MX5 during snow season.

2000 Mazda miata K&N typhoon intake

This cold air intake was very easy to install and looks great. As far as performance goes, I can't really tell that much of a difference. But it does make the car sound mean. High quality product, the only thing I thought it could use an air dam around the filter cone , to induct colder air.
