Spectre Cold Air Intake review with some user observations.
Installation went well with a few exceptions. First, the heat shield is too tall for the 2000 4Runner. Leaving one screw attached I lowered the shield to allow the hood to fasten down. It is loose but the lowered hood keeps it from moving. Second, the shoulder bolts on the band clamps bottomed out before they tightened down securely. I will have to buy full thread bolts to secure the air tube to the intake manifold. Performance seems to have increased a bit after a few days.
This is my second K&N I've had, first was on my 2004 Ram 1500, this one is on my 2014 Ram 1500. The throaty sound it adds with an exhaust makes my hemi sounds like a beast, not obnoxious but tough. I notice the power but have not checked the gas savings yet but Probably not much savings since I'm a little heavy footed so I can hear this thing roar. Took me about an hour to install, instructions were pretty simple and I didn't have any issues. Over all great product!
