Takeda Cold Air Intakes

In the wacky world of cartoons, characters can spend hours underwater as long as they have a straw or reed to breathe through. The Takeda engineering geniuses, who apparently like to watch a lot of cartoons, picked up on this idea and applied it to automotive accessories. That’s how Takeda Cold Air Intake Kits came into being. Well, that’s one theory. Others, without a lot of imagination, would have you believe that Takeda Cold Air Intakes come into this world to unleash massive horsepower and torque. And, this more rational Takeda Cold Air Intake creation myth does make some sense. You will have a healthy dose of extra energy, torque, and throttle response after installing an Takeda Cold Air Intake. The same cannot be said about the cartoon characters and their straw snorkels.

K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (50-State Legal) Reviews

Could Fit Better

Reviewed By Ryan V (OLYPHANT, PA) Reviewed for a 2011 Jeep Wrangler —1/21/2018 8:16 AM

Overall the quality of the intake is not bad but I'm disappointed in the design. The Air Temp sensor location on the intake is on the bottom of the intake pipe instead of the top like the factory setup which is putting tension on the wires going to the sensor. Also the heat shield has gaps on the bottom of the box and around the intake pipe were it connects to the filter, which seem to defeat the purpose of the heat shield.
