But, at least in my '07 Honda Pilot, the new leaner air/fuel calculations have changed the shift points under full acceleration (5200 before vs 5000rpms now) The pull is stronger now, but you just know there's another 200rpms at the end that never come. And that's where a late model V6 makes it's torque. Between 3000 and 5500 rpms. All in all though, a good investment. Make sure you combine it with a cold air intake system or you're not going to see much difference. You can also have your ECM (computer) reprogrammed/re-flashed to regain those lost rpms, but make sure it doesn't void the warranty.Too busy having fun with the power right now to measure MPG's. Maybe in a couple months....

Around town I noticed approx 1 mile per gallon improvement which represented approx 5%. At interstate speed I noticed approx 2 miles per gallon or almost a 10% improvement. The reason I purchased this to begin with was to improve the low end performance for the 5.4L motor. My truck had a throttle lag, but the Ford garage said everything was within factory specifications and they could not change anything. Well the low end response also improved, so that I no longer experience throttle lag.

Installation on my Vortex 6.0 engine wasn't as easy as expected, having to disconnect various hoses including the coolant hose, thus having to drain some of the coolant. Disconnecting the intake with the original bolts is not the easiest task. Also, the fit is very tight after installation, leaving little room between the intake and the radiator. So far I have not been impressed by the performance. After having installed the Spacer, new spark plugs and a K&N performance filter, my average mpg went up from 13.4 to about 15.7, but has not settled at around 14.2. I would have expected a bit more with all the tune ups, but then again, we know that the 6.0 V8 is a gas guzzler.

I removed it from a clip on the other side of the intake plenum, by the headers. That gave sufficient slack. I have a A&N cold air intake which gives huge amounts of power and responce especially in high rpm's. This gave nice power and responce in lower rpm's especially off the line and passing POWER. As for fuel economy.. Mine will be worse because of racing off the line at a light with a great amount of power. If you can turn a wrench and want a lot more throttal responce and power easy get a cold air intake and a throttal body spacer. Best mod on my truck for power. Till the supper charger.
