2011 Ford Mustang: Old School Muscle, New School Price

Bookmark and Share

Prices being reported for the upgraded 2011 Ford Mustang V6 and GT models are up to $22,995 and $30,495, which equates to a price jump of $750 and $1,250 respectively. Is the price tag worth it? Considering the numerous performance upgrades, the answer would have to be yes.

Unlike the 2010 model, which only received modifications to the body, the 2011 line will receive noticeable upgrades to the engine. For example, owners of the new V6 models will enjoy an extra 95 HP through the output of a new 3.7 liter Duratec V6 engine.

In addition, the 4.6 liter V8 has been transformed into an amped-up 5.0 liter V8, appropriately named "Coyote." The 2011 Mustang GT V8 model will also feature a six-speed manual transmission in direct competition with the Camaro, offering the same since 1993.

Ford expects the powertrain to get 30 miles-per-gallon on the freeway when paired with its new six-speed automatic. Not bad…and also not just the result of a new engine. Ford has also thrown in a series of additional improvements to further maximize performance, including a revised air intake, a pair of new six-speed transmissions—available in both automatic and manual—electric power steering, and even some aerodynamically-efficient body modifications that include a revised grille, deeper front air dam, rear-wheel tire spats, different underbody shields, and a new rear deck lid seal.

All this comes backed by Ford's assurance that V6 owners won't miss the telltale rumble of the Mustang exhaust system thanks to the revised Ford intake and standard dual exhaust.

Now that you're salivating, you have two choices: sell a kidney (or anything else you have two of and are willing to part with)…or invest in a few Mustang parts to upgrade your current model. In fact, for under $1,000 you can easily refurbish your entire vehicle with Ford parts ranging from Ford fender flares to a Mustang air filter.

And when you upgrade, protect your car from sustaining further wear and tear with accessories like Mustang floor mats, Mustang seat covers, Ford rubber mats and a Mustang vent visor. Each helps protect the appearance of your vehicle while maintaining your resale value. Who knows—with enough TLC, you may even be within range of the 2011 models on a trade-in.

The Mustang is a legend, and for good reason: it embodies excellence and performance through quality Ford parts. Whether you need something as simple as Mustang Floor Mats or something more complex like an air intake system, Mustang parts are a quick and affordable way to revitalize your existing model.
